CPU usage at 100% while gaming

Hello,

When I play Minecraft (regardless of the version, with or without shaders) my processor is used at 100% while my Graphics Card is at 20%-30%:

Everything is being used by Open JDK (Minecraft 1.19.2 in the screenshot below)

I updated the chipset and drivers for my GPU but nothing changes, I restarted my PC and nothing changes. I want to point out that in-game the FPS is not stable even without movement and I am getting around 40-80 FPS which doesn't make sense for an RTX 3060...

If anyone has an idea why my processor is being used so much, I would like to know!

Thank you in advance, Axlenoon

Hardware:

  • OS: Windows 10 Home 22H2 x64
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.40 GHz
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia RTX 3060 - Palit Dual 12Gb GDDR6 OC
  • Nvidia Driver: Game Ready 531.79
  • RAM: 24Gb 2x4Gb G.Skills Ripjaws DDR4 2666 MHz 2x8Gb Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3200 MHz
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H
  • Air Cooling: AMD Cooler
  • Power Supply: 550W Corsair 80+ Bronze
  • Bios: F3, 2018

(PS: I know the Crucials are throttled, no need to tell me)

Hello

I suppose you installed openjdk instead of java x64...?

Hello,

Check by right-clicking on the .exe → "run with high-performance graphics processor" or via the Nvidia control panel, that Minecraft is indeed using your GPU.

Best regards.

Where can I ask him to use the high-performance graphics proc? And the game definitely uses my graphics card

Hello,

This is another account but I would like to add some clarifications:

I have had this processor for 5 years and it has now been a week since I have been experiencing blue screens, slowdowns, and drops in FPS not only on Minecraft. I'm just wondering if my processor might be nearing the end of its life.

I also had a file recovery recently...

Thank you in advance.

Hello Axlenoon

First, perform a system repair using the command line

In the Windows search (the magnifying glass), type cmd and run it as Administrator

In the window, type => chkdsk /f/r

You will say Y (yes)

Confirm and restart the PC

Warning = the check can take an hour (or more) = do not turn off the PC
