Gigaset CL660A Answering Machine Activation
FOURARB Posted messages 12 Status Membre -
Hello everyone,
I have installed the GIGASET CL660 A landline phone (with answering machine) on my Orange LIVEBOX 6.
The answering machine activates when I don't pick up for an incoming call: the person trying to reach me can leave a message on the CL660's answering machine.
However, when I am on a call, the answering machine does not activate and thus does not record the caller's message, which is then handled by Orange's answering machine of my BOX.
What should I do (settings) so that the CL660A's answering machine activates when I am on a call?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
FOURARB

Hello,
Your answering machine (CL660A) cannot take another call if you are already on the line.
So, it's not unusual for the Orange answering machine to kick in in that case.
Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
Good evening BALADUR 13
Thank you for your response.
It is unfortunate that the clarification you provided is not included in the paper instruction booklet or the detailed manual on the GIGASET website.
I tried to disable the answering machine on the CL660A to let the Orange answering machine work: I notice that there is no notification (icon or written info) indicating that messages have been recorded.
In your opinion, is this normal or is it a misconfiguration on my part?
Best regards,
FOURARB
It is regrettable that the information you provided is not included in the paper instruction booklet or the detailed manual on the GIGASET website.
This cannot possibly be included in the notices. It seems obvious to me that it is impossible to make two simultaneous calls on a single phone line.
I have disabled the answering machine of the CL660A to let the Orange answering machine operate: I notice that there is no notification.
Yet the difference exists... With the answering machine off, the display of the base is turned off.
The answering machine in service symbol does not appear as long as there are no messages.
When a call comes in, the "envelope" flashes (depending on how you've activated it) and if you press the button you get this.
Hello,
I am disabling the answering machine of the CL660A and therefore would like the ORANGE answering machine to fully perform its role.
- After receiving a call without answering (the caller having left a message), on the handset:
- "the envelope" is flashing
- display of the "missed call" icon
- when I press the "envelope" button, on the "messages and calls" screen:
- missed call (1)
- voicemail (0)
I therefore see that I have a missed call, but nothing regarding the deposit of a message.
To know if the missed call is accompanied by a message, I have to either press OK while selecting the voicemail line (0) or return to the standby screen and press button 1.
Does this mean that there are no notifications for messages recorded on the Orange answering machine and that notification is only intended for the CL660A answering machine when it is activated?
Thank you for your clarification.
Sincerely, FOURARB
baladur13,
- In my Orange customer space, the visual notification for messages is set to: YES
- As for the "message" envelope settings, I am unable to follow the instructions below.
Since your previous response, I have made several input attempts, and I still cannot display the number 6
Best regards,
FOURARB
I did not take into account the concept of the sleep screen with your precise instructions (pressing in the center of the browser), I was able to enter 974.
I confirmed the setting "the message key flashes".
BUT, I still do not have any message notifications on the external messaging.
The external voicemail number is well recorded: Voicemail / Home Answering Machine / "Network Mailbox: 3103"
Still no notification.
I have no doubt that 3103 is properly registered under key 1
You don't have, as in the image above under the answering machine symbol, a number different from 00 when you leave a message...
Try setting the voicemail notification in your Orange customer space to "No"... then, a few minutes later, switch it back to "Yes".
The response symbol is never displayed, and therefore no number.
I put "NO" as advised, then again YES a few minutes later: still no notification.
Hello baladur13,
First point
- my phone is ringing.
- In my customer area, the call forwarding without ringing is set to "calls will be forwarded to the voicemail."
Second point
I contacted Orange.
My contact told me that he could not verify if the notification had been sent properly and that the only action he could take was to temporarily set it to NO, then after 20 minutes enter YES regarding the voicemail notification. He did this, and it did not work.
His conclusion: the problem comes from my phone.
I contacted GIGASET.
My contact told me that notifications are managed by the operator through the mailbox. So for Orange, the issue lies with GIGASET.
Conclusion from all this
Should I change my phone (provided I am sure it works correctly concerning notifications) or should I abandon the Livebox 6 to go back to the Livebox 5?
I don't believe the phone is the cause of the problem... and if Orange says everything is fine on their end... then the doubt could be cast on the Livebox.
Try resetting it. To do this, cut off its power supply for a minute and then turn it back on.
