Gigaset AS405A answering machine triggers too quickly.

The answering machine kicks in after 4 or 5 rings
we don't have time to pick up

What to do?

    4 rings is about 20 seconds, 5 is 25 seconds.
    You can indeed increase the delay before your answering machine triggers. (Possible settings for this model: immediate 10s, 18s or 30s or auto 18s or 10s seconds depending on whether there are already new messages or not.
    How are you set up? See the base settings on page 21.

    However, be careful if your phone is connected to a box (Internet telephony), if you increase it without considering the existing settings to trigger your operator's voicemail, you risk having that voicemail pick up the messages.
    Generally, by default, operators set it to 5 rings.
