VideoPad.. MP4 Export

Solved

Hello, Hello everyone.

Here I am trying for the first time a video editing software, VideoPad, and honestly I find it very practical to use. A little edit as a first attempt, with two sequences that I recorded and exported in MP4 format.

Well, there it is, I can see the thumbnail but when I play it I get a black screen, could this be because it's a version that I haven't purchased yet, just a trial version?

Thanks for any suggestions. Best regards. Pino

Hello, VideoPad is the lightweight version of Pinnacle Studio that I use if it suits you, I don't know the price.

I have the NCH Soft version here. Everything is going well, but I don't see the MP4 compilation, probably because my version is the trial one.. I think. Thank you.

    Hello,

It’s not normal because if you’re using this software for the first time, you should, in principle, have access to all its functions for a limited time, maybe 15 days if I remember correctly.

Can you provide information on the codecs (video stream and audio stream) with MediaInfo: https://mediaarea.net

Personally, I use the free version which is unlimited in time but can only be used for private and not commercial use (warning window), and I can only export in WMV (which I use) or AVI it seems: https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/fr/index.html.

Try to play your file with different players to see if one of them might succeed, such as VLC, MPC-HC, or the Movies & TV app if you have Windows 10/11.

    Best regards

Very good intuition,... indeed I can read it well with VLC but not with the Windows Media Player... surprising... yet it is in MP4 format... and I watch many other edits with another software... normally it is the unlimited version but in private too...

    Hello,

I also use the free version for personal use, and I haven't encountered any limitations.

Version 12.10 allows exporting in mp4 format.

yes, me too 13 - 04 and I compose, compile and export very well.. but after that it's not possible to view it with the Windows player... VLC yes... is there a particular setting to choose to watch it after compiling?

No, I don't use any particular settings, I leave everything at default.

If it works with VLC, it's more likely an issue with Windows Media Player.

    With VLC:
during playback of the video file, press Ctrl J in the codecs section to display the codec information.
    Note the information.

Do the same with another MP4 file that is playable with Windows Media Player.
    And compare.

Yes, I think my Windows 7 is a bit old, but I don't understand why it plays everything except this VideoPad file.. with VLC it gives me "Stream 0 video: Codec H264-MPEG-4 AVC(part10)(avc1)

and it's the same with another file.. probably my player is too old.. yet it's an MP4....

For Windows 7, try installing a codec pack like K-Lite if you don't already have one, for example: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

As I recall, the WMP player needed it because it didn't include all the codecs... that's the difference with VLC, which already contains everything needed to play almost all types of video files.

Hello, I'm back to tell you that I remember the MPEG4 codec is free for playback but not for content editors, to be verified.

Thank you for this good advice. In any case, it stopped working after two compilations. I will have to buy it... Considering it, it's interesting. It's very good for video cloning... Interesting. In any case, thank you for all the received advice. Well done. Bye. Pino

Very interesting.. in any case I felt the multiple possibilities.. The Family version is already interesting even if just two sound tracks are half price... I will consider that..; Thank you.... should we end this exchange or keep it open? Thank you....

Hello, to finish, the version I have, "ultimate" from Pinnacle Studio, costs €130. If you want to continue with video editing, it's up to you to decide.

      https://www.pinnaclesys.com/fr/products/studio/?x-vehicle=ppc&msclkid=ad449b549a791807162af8ac63eee722&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=INT%7CFR%7CBRKWS%7CPIN%7CGoogle%7CRebuild&utm_term=logiciel+pinnacle&utm_content=Pinnacle

You can mark it as resolved if you want.

I would leave it open because it's an interesting theme, everyone could contribute their notes in the future... If there are no more notes, we will close it... I saw that you prefer to stop... an open door for advice... Have a good evening....
