Hello,

I am on Mozilla Firefox version 108.0.2, and I would like to know if it is possible to modify a favorite icon (website) in the bookmarks bar? I have the Google Maps icon, which is a colored "G", while my PC at the office has the original one; I can't find anything, and when I right-click, as I have read, I have nothing that can help me, and there is no "properties".
Can someone tell me if it is possible and if so, how?
Thank you for your help

    Hello

The colored G corresponds to the search features

The colored circle is the icon for Google Chrome, the browser

maps.google has a different icon on Chrome than on Firefox

It is Google that defines what is displayed, it's not like Windows

      Hello,

I have the same icon and it's not the G when I bookmark Google Maps in Firefox or save it as a Favorite in Chrome.

Regarding Firefox, they are provided by the site and stored in the favicons.sqlite file which is encoded and not accessible to us, so we can't change them unless with an extension; there are several, look in the Firefox extensions for "favicons" (or change favicons, switch favicons...).

The behavior is different if I want to create a new shortcut (lnk) of a url for example on the desktop, since I can then assign it an icon of my choice, but this time it means that I will have to use another tool to download this image from the site, and possibly a third to convert it to the ico format.
