Know the number of messages in an SMS conversation

Open the SMS

Click on the 3 dots at the top right

Select delete messages

Click at the top left on Select messages

It will display the number of selected messages in the message

Then you cancel the operation by going back (do not confirm, you don't want to delete them)

I used to like this feature on my old Sony Ericsson (sliding up) ^^.
Currently with my J5 (2017), this feature is not available (unless it's well hidden).

The only way (for now that I know) is when backing up your data.
You can choose which ones; but at the end of the backup, it shows the number of msg(sms) next to it.

To identify how many with a single contact, you would need to delete all the others and leave only this one.
