Keyboard that covers the bottom of long SMS

Hello,

I have seen the same problem mentioned here and there: when an SMS starts to reach a certain length, the text no longer "scrolls up" as you type, and therefore, you're typing blind because the keyboard covers the text.

The response that is always given (and that works) is to go "to the 3 dots that are in the keyboard area," and act on "floating keyboard" (but for me, the floating keyboard doesn't concern me; I just want my text to scroll up as I write it, like before). However, on my Pixel, no matter how much I scour the keyboard area, I don't see the famous 3 dots. They are there on the generic SMS app (that is to say, at the top of my Pixel's screen when I'm in SMS) but not in the keyboard part.

And above all, my problem is not related to the cl

I went to check the settings on my Pixel 7: my indicated keyboard is Gboard. So I go into Gboard, then into its settings, and there I go into "preferences," and also "gesture typing," but in neither do I see anything that could resolve my issue.

A big thank you for your help; this problem is very annoying.

PS: I selected "other" for the phone brand because it seems that Google Pixels are not listed in the dropdown menu of mobile brands.

PS: wanting to add a clarification, I see that I can no longer correct my text (the "edit" option has disappeared) and so I'm sorry for a sentence that is not finished (I forgot to delete it).

However, what I wanted to clarify is that I expressed myself poorly: the text does scroll up, but... except for the last line. It is that line which is hidden by the keyboard. As someone who has the same issue said; when you type words, a typo doesn't matter much, but when you have to type numbers, that's when it's annoying (to stay polite).

I hope someone will have a solution. I turned my phone off and back on, and it didn't change anything. What I don't understand is why this thing happened all of a sudden (and it's been going on for several days now, so I don't see why it would stop...)

There you go, that was my clarification. Thanks again.

The answer I was given doesn't suit me because it tells me to go to the famous 3 points, which my message clearly states I don't have. Moreover, the answer tells me to bring up the keyboard: I don't have to bring it up since it automatically appears as soon as I start typing (and this principle suits me).

However, I'm copying it, just in case it might be useful for others.

Actually, the problem fixed itself this morning: I found my "normal" keyboard again (I realize that when I had the issue I described, the keyboard had become much larger, without me doing anything to change its size). So now it's back to its normal size.

I would like to indicate the problem as solved, but I don't see a button for that, sorry.

Here is the response received from the AI (I thought it would appear in the discussion. Why doesn't it?).

Thank you nonetheless.

Hello!
It's me, Bobot, the AI ready to surprise you!
This problem is indeed common on some devices running Android. To solve your issue, you can try the following method:

1. Open the Messages app and create a new SMS.
2. Swipe your finger from the bottom of the screen upwards to bring up the Gboard keyboard.
3. On the top row of the Gboard keyboard (where the numbers are), you should see an icon with three small vertical dots, click on it.
4. From the options, select "One-handed mode".
5. This will reduce the size of your keyboard, making it less likely to cover your text.

If that doesn’t work, you could try installing another keyboard from the Play Store. There are several quality alternatives to Gboard, like SwiftKey or Fleksy for example.

I have exactly the same problem!

And I won't have your patience! It's a scam. And I'm going to expose Samsung. All this jargon about the solutions to be provided is beyond me.

Good luck!
