Hello
Due to significant connectivity issues with my laposte.net account, I am going to transfer everything to another email account and would like to know how to save all my emails currently on laposte.net for later consultation, even when my account is deleted. What is the process to do this, please?
I have access to the La Poste website, and it also works with their mobile app, but I refuse to continue using it; I want to use my email app. Plus, it’s becoming too complicated; mailboxes are automatically emptied if there is no connection for 4 months. In short, laposte is over for me.

Hello,
You can save emails in .eml format.
If you save them on the Laposte.net site, you can only save one at a time. It may take a while.
I also recommend using the Thunderbird email client. You can download it here:
https://www.thunderbird.net/fr/
Once Thunderbird is installed, you can add your @laposte.net account.
You only need the email address and password. The setup will be automatic. I recommend using the IMAP protocol for receiving emails.
When everything is set up, you will just have to select the emails and save them in a folder on your computer.
An .eml file contains the message with all its information and attachments.
It can be read by most email clients, including Thunderbird and the Windows Mail software.

Hello,
Connect not with a webmail but with the mail software of your choice (therefore only on a PC), set up in POP3 and not in IMAP to avoid synchronization with anything if the online content gets deleted.
In practice, as long as we need the old messages, we will therefore have 2 accounts in the mail software, one with the new provider, the other with the archived account.

Once the mail software is installed, if there isn't one already (Thunderbird or whatever you prefer), you need to create the La Poste account with the appropriate credentials and the La Poste POP3 (not IMAP) and SMTP transfer settings, then retrieve all the emails to download everything on the server into the software.
