My old Laposte.net email address has been assigned to someone else.

Hello,

I had created an email account a long time ago and I haven't used it for 5 years. Recently, I realized that “my laposte.net email address had been given to someone else (exactly the same) – When I requested my “password”, it indicated “sent by SMS to 07***09” but I don’t have a mobile number starting with 07. Questions:

1 Can Laposte.net assign the same email address to someone else?

2 – After how much time of inactivity can an email address be closed by Laposte.net?

So, I don’t know if I was hacked or if Laposte.net deleted my email address because I hadn’t used it for several years.

Thank you for your help

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 73.0

Unfortunately, I can't tell you if it's hacking, but it's rather likely that your email was closed for inactivity.
However, you can still try to contact them for more information about the email closure.

    Hello,
Nothing unusual, it was enough to read the T&Cs to get the answers to your questions:
Any account that has not recorded any activity for a consecutive period of 28 months may be permanently deleted.

    See THE T&Cs OF LAPOSTE.NET.
