Hello,
I own a 2016 C4 Grand Picasso. Occasionally, I use Waze by connecting my Android 11 phone to the vehicle's screen via Android Auto. This allows me to get traffic updates since my vehicle is over 3 years old and the traffic service is no longer active, and given the price they ask to reactivate this service, I forget about it.
I have read online that Android Auto will disappear. How can I display Waze on the vehicle's screen without Android Auto?
I did a test by connecting my smartphone to the vehicle. Waze displays without any problem on the vehicle's screen. I disabled the Android Auto app on the smartphone and an error message appeared on the vehicle's screen 'Reconnect Android .....'. If the Android Auto application is disabled, it is impossible to connect the smartphone if Android Auto is disabled.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
The problem is not Android on the phone, but the car.
On the phone side, Android Auto is not completely dead: it will be gradually removed from the Play Store starting with Android versions 12, 11, ..., but nothing will prevent older installations from working (in the same vein, I continue to use Garmin Smartphone Link without any issues, which has the same status).
Formally, nothing prevents the phone from using the successor (Google Assistant) or any application that adheres to the Mirror Link standard.
The issue is that the car, generally equipped with outdated and frozen versions of Android, will not want to hear about it.
