Hello everyone,
This is more of a "resolution" than a question, actually.
For the past two days, my Canon printer has been rebooting nonstop, and it even turns on by itself shortly after being plugged in.
The symptoms:
The printer turns on by itself,
the "MAXIFY" logo appears,
2 blank pages come out of the printer
Then the orange triangle lights up quickly
The printer turns off.
Then it turns back on, and the same endless cycle continues.
I searched online and found absolutely nothing, until today, when I conducted my research in English.
This model is not the only one affected, far from it.
A "palliative" resolution: the problem comes from the Internet connection.
So first, you need to isolate the printer from the Internet.
Unplug the cable, then turn off the WIFI on the router.
After that, plug your printer back in electrically, then turn it on.
IF you reconnect the network, the problem will happen again.
So you will need to disable the network on your printer before turning the WIFI back on, and you will need to connect your printer directly to the computer via USB cable.
So, yes, no more network printing.
Sure.
But at least the printer works.
Given the number of affected users, I have no doubt that Canon will release firmware to fix this problem, sooner or later.
Let's hope so anyway.
Good evening, and I hope this post will be useful to some of you!

Hello,
This trick has been online since June 1, 2022!
Canon wireless printers are stuck in reboot loops, but there might be a way for you to fix it...
Taking the printer offline

Actually, I spoke too soon...
Indeed, it's not satisfactory for me.
In reality, only a computer with Wi-Fi can then connect to the printer's network.
However, we have three computers in the household, two of which are wired by RJ45 and do not have Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, for the one that functions with Wi-Fi, you have to switch networks to print, then switch again to connect to the internet.
So, I prefer the USB connection, which does not require me to change networks to print: too bad, only one PC can print, but that would also be the case if the printer were set as an AP.
I am therefore eagerly awaiting the firmware, as I want to be able to print not only from the 3 PCs but also from the tablet, phone, etc., which it did before, you know.
In short, I want to regain the Wi-Fi connection of my printer on my network.
Still, thank you for this palliative solution. -
