Hello, I bought an arranger keyboard with a MIDI cable.

I plugged the USB MIDI cable into my PC, but nothing happens; my keyboard is not detected by the PC. What should I do, under Windows 10? Thank you for your reply, it is a Shiver KS100 keyboard from Cultura.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 97.0

Hi and thank you, Cubase apparently doesn't work, I'm on Windows 10.

Hello, you need to check your keyboard's manual because there might be a process to make your computer recognize your keyboard. Alternatively, you may need a specific software to install on your computer for it to recognize your keyboard.

Thank you, there’s nothing on the keyboard at Cultura they told me to use Cubase but it doesn't work.

Of course, Cuba s (and not Cuba ss) works, but you need to configure the Midi settings.

I don't know it at all. Yes, it's Cubase.

Well, for the Cubase setup, you'll need to search online; I don't use it anymore and it's old for me.

Let's start from the beginning, what cables did you connect and where?

Do you have a USB MIDI interface listed in the device manager?

I just checked, I don't have a USB MIDI controller?

Ah ok, on the PC side it's a USB and on the keyboard side, it's a round USB plug, so there you go.

It is not round on the keyboard

Apparently, it is a USB B type socket on the keyboard (on the right in the image) and a driver needs to be installed

You need to read the manual for the MIDI functions, there is some setup to do

Thank you for your feedback, is the manual for the MIDI functions for Windows 10??

No idea, it usually comes with the keyboard or can be downloaded from the manufacturer's site (like the driver).

Ok, I'll look into that. There's nothing from the manufacturer, no software, nothing, but thanks.

You bought it new and there's no user manual?

It's a keyboard with a lot of functions; without a manual, you're going to struggle.

No, nothing about the manual, I'll see tomorrow to find the driver from Microsoft, thank you.

Microsoft has nothing to do with this
If there was a Microsoft driver, it would have been installed at the first connection of your keyboard

The title of your topic is misleading, it's not a midi cable

@fabien77: I'm not here to answer your question, but I happen to be in the same predicament. Have you resolved your issue?

Normally, there is a function button you need to press at the same time as the shift button. I was in the same situation as you.
