Connecting a virtual synthesizer with AUDACITY

Hello,

AND GREETINGS TO ALL

I know how to integrate a VST into Audacity; I've added several that are not recognized by Audacity, even though the .dll file is correctly placed in the plugin folder.

I would like to play around with some VSTs to integrate into Audacity using the mouse.

Best regards.

Thank you for your responses.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.5.7

    Hello,

Actually, Audacity only supports effect plugins, i.e. filters, delays, reverbs, etc., whereas a synth is not an effect but a sound generator.

I suggest installing software like VSTHost (free), which allows you to play with your MIDI keyboard (or from a MIDI file) any VST synth plugin, the output of which you can directly record in WAV. Then, you can load this WAV file into Audacity to edit it as you wish.

That's how I do it, and it works perfectly.

Hello junk dog, to make VSTs work with Audacity, you need to install a host software for VSTs: download vst-bridge-1.1.exe here: http://audacityteam.org/vst/

    Hello suradcom

thank you for your response, it seems to be the right approach, but it didn't work

I placed the synth VST in the vstplugins folder and I followed the steps, when I go to the "effect" tab, only one appears and not the synth, I would like to play and have what I play appear on the sound track.

info: I have Audacity Unicode version 1.3.11 BETA

    THANK YOU
