Unable to make a compatible VHS tape work

Hello,
I have software to convert 8mm tapes using an adaptable VHS tape and transfer them to USB or other modern storage devices.
I was lent a Panasonic adaptable tape, but unfortunately, when I put it in the AIWA VCR, it ejects immediately. Can you tell me why???

    Generally, this type of 8mm adapter contains a battery that powers the adapter.
    Have you checked its presence and whether it is new?
