VHS tape playback issue

Hello,
I am very disappointed because I had all the equipment to digitize my video tapes (VCR and recently purchased Elgato video capture device) and yet I cannot play my old tapes.
A large number of them do not display the video but I can hear the sound...
We managed to get 5 done, but all the others are unreadable.
When I play them in fast forward, I see a few frames but as soon as I go back to normal playback, I see nothing (striped screen, green squares on the right, or even nothing at all).
Can you help me?
I am really sad that I cannot see my old movies!

Often people think about cleaning the heads of their VCRs, but forget that it's their video tapes that caused the dirtiness in the first place. Therefore, it makes sense to also consider cleaning their VHS video tapes. The result in terms of video and audio quality is very appreciable, justifying this cleaning sequence.
Moreover, since Funai announced in July 2016 the cessation of the production line for VHS VCRs, it is imperative to think about preserving both one's video tapes and VCRs.
As professionals in digitization, we share the same observation, as we are also faced with the digitization and transfer of VHS video tapes (as well as their variants), often in poor condition due to their storage, but also due to their geographical origin (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Réunion, Guyana, New Caledonia, Africa, Asia), where local humidity encourages the emergence of fungi/mold.
That is why we have just equipped ourselves with a professional-grade device (RTi TapeCheck Cleaner 470 - UK), specifically designed for deep cleaning of VHS video tapes, as well as SVHS, VHS-C, SVHS-C. We have therefore created a cleaning service for VHS video tapes that is included in our digitization and transfer pricing. However, this paid service will also be accessible to individuals wishing to digitize their video tapes themselves.
