ReadyBoost is not working because the computer is already fast.

Hello,
I would like to use ReadyBoost to increase my memory not for performance but just to add more, but my setup is already too fast for ReadyBoost to accelerate it. If we could bypass the thing, that would help me please.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 97.0.4692.99

    Hi,
    An application that uses more than 8GB of RAM should also be very heavy on the processor logically. ReadyBoost is obsolete; it came from Windows 7 at a time when some laptops with 5400 RPM hard drives were really slow. However, it can never compete with RAM. RAM is extremely fast, and a regular USB stick is extremely slow. A USB stick can never do the job of RAM.

    ReadyBoost was invented to allow machines with limited resources to improve "a little" the loading of Windows using a USB flash drive... And that’s it!!

    It is impossible to use this kind of system to increase the working memory of a machine.
    At best, you can slightly increase the virtual memory of Windows which uses space on the disk, but that does not speed up the machine, it just allows you to open an application that requires a lot of memory to launch!!
    You can find the "paging file" settings in the Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Performance (Settings button), Advanced tab...

    But this is not a cure-all and it is limited because it is proportional to the actual available memory.
