Good evening everyone,

After searching the internet quite a bit, I haven't found what I need to get connected properly.

Let me explain my dilemma:
After numerous moves, I finally managed to unearth my Yamaha RX-V477 amplifier that I want to get back into service. (I should be able to handle the software issues ^^)
Since I no longer have my 5.1 speakers, I invested in a Yamaha soundbar that I would like to keep.

My problem is, how can I connect this soundbar to the amplifier so that it serves as a speaker for all the peripherals?
Knowing that I will connect the TV, an Apple TV 4K, a PS4, and this famous soundbar to the amplifier.

Equipment:
Philips 55" TV (I no longer have the exact model, it's a Philips OS and not Android) it has 1 HDMI ARC, 2 regular HDMI ports, 1 optical, and composite.

Yamaha B20A soundbar: 1 HDMI ARC, 2 optical inputs

And the Yamaha RX-V477 amplifier

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Hello,
The solution involves an HDMI audio extractor with an optical audio output to be inserted
For the image, connect the HDMI out from the Yamaha amplifier to the HDMI input of the television
And for sound, use an optical cable from the optical output of the extractor to the optical input of the soundbar.
All other devices are connected to HDMI inputs 1 to 6 of the Yamaha amplifier.

Example of an HDMI audio extractor

Indeed, if the television has an optical audio output... we can do without the HDMI audio extractor
Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Thank you for the feedback :)

So it's more about the connections, since I lack optical cables I need to invest.
If I connect 2 opticals: tv->sound bar and sound bar->amplifier, could that play the sound everywhere?
