What is the exact model of your television? Is it the LCD Daewoo DLP3212?
In that case, it's normal because it has a DVI-D digital input... which only carries the video, not the audio. Only HDMI connections carry both audio and video.
So you'll need to connect the "video" to your LCD and the audio, via the DIGITAL OUT (optical fiber) connection to a home theater amplifier.

Hi Krystof, I have the DLP-32C2 model. Yes, I have a DV-I, HDMI, YUV, RCA connection. I'm connected via HDMI, but I just noticed that I have another small input next to it for audio; it's not the optical input, it's another one next to the HDMI.

So, if there's just one RCA input, which should be black, it's for a coaxial cable.
If you have 2 inputs, red and white, it's for standard stereo.

Switching to YUV won't change your sound issue; you'll just lose resolution.

Can't you connect your PS3 "video" to the HDMI and connect your PS3 "audio" to another input on your TV?

So I had the same problem, sound in the menu or while listening to music, but for playing the game there was absolutely no sound at all. So I turned off the power to the console and the TV for a few minutes, and now it works perfectly!

If you want, on my PS3, I connected the HDMI and the RCA for audio, but the screen only takes everything from the HDMI. In the System settings > Audio of the PS3, you can choose the type of output:
* HDMI: which doesn’t work in your case
* Optical: which is useless because Fiber Optic, and you have a Coaxial input
* RCA & Co: in this case, you just need to connect your RCA cable provided with the PS3, and only use the audio cables, red & white, to produce sound on your TV

So that doesn’t work? You can’t have a video input on your TV in HDMI and sound in RCA?

If that’s the case, you indeed have the YUV solution left, which works very well. Moreover, for my part, I don’t play any games at 1024p... most are in 720p and therefore supported by YUV.

I noticed that many people have problems with their HDMI, so I advise you to go to HDMI sound settings, press X, then set it to manual and check everything, validate, and start the game that presents the problem, and there you go.

You plug in the provided SCART connector along with your HDMI cable, go to sound settings, choose the first thing that determines the input mode, scroll down and you have the SCART + HDMI option, select that and the problem is solved.

I had exactly the same problem as you with a Daewoo 82 cm! I scratched my head for several hours and then I simply unplugged the PS3 and the TV. I waited 1 minute and then I plugged everything back in... The sound came back ;)

However, it always worked until this weekend.
I unplugged, plugged it back in, blew into the cables, nothing!!!
I turned the TV off and on several times, itch of wel!!! Nothing!!! Nada!!!!
Avoid solutions like "plug your cable YZ29982WRZE into the 5635GTREF socket of your home theater."
The problem is NO SOUND WITH HDMI PS3 LCD DAEWOO 32 INCH HD READY.
I have to settle for lousy quality to use the PS3 with the old-fashioned cables.
DAEWOO is just as crappy as it sounds.

Apparently, the solution is to unplug your HDMI cable, blow on it, and plug it back in.
