Hello,
I have a small technical issue with my Acer Predator Helios 300.
The laptop screen no longer turns on at startup, but the PC starts up correctly. There are no display issues when connecting a second screen via HDMI; I also notice that the main screen is no longer detected.
I first tried several simple things:
- Increasing the brightness (Obviously, this doesn't work, but you never know)
- Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery while draining the remaining electricity from the PC; I also tried removing the CMOS battery and running it only on AC power without the battery, but still no success.
I then disconnected the display and tested it on another Acer Predator (same model), and it lit up fine at startup.
I figured the problem was probably with the cable for the screen, so I ordered a new one, changed it, but still nothing.
Do you have any idea where the problem could come from?
I presume it's related to the motherboard, but is there anything that can be done to fix this issue?

Hello,
Have you looked at the BIOS settings? To access it with your PC model, it should be F2.
I have a laptop whose screen was black but that worked on an external monitor. From that external monitor, I checked the BIOS and it indicated to boot automatically on an external monitor. I don't know why the settings had changed.-

There is another method to access the BIOS with the Helios 300. I'm not sure if you have important data on this PC. I don't think the method is risky, but you never know.
Approximate translation:
Start menu / power button / hold SHIFT key / restart
A blue menu should appear. Troubleshoot / Advanced options / UEFI Firmware Settings / Restart.
"There is another way to get into BIOS if your laptop boots up way too fast to even get into it spamming f2. Click Start menu, then the power icon at the bottom and then hold SHIFT and click on restart. This will take you into a blue menu from there you click Troubleshoot and then click Advanced Options, then Select UEFI Firmware Settings and hit Restart."

Do you have Windows 10 or Windows 11?
You can try a soft reset by holding down the Power button for about 15 seconds.
Otherwise, you can try reinstalling the graphics card drivers using those from the official site:
https://www.acer.com/ac/fr/FR/content/drivers
This dates back to 2020, but there was a bug in Windows 10 that prevented some drivers from functioning correctly. If you have the option to disable the Memory Integrity feature, just to test if that's the cause. You can reactivate it later if it doesn't solve the problem.

So for the drivers, I've already done it and unfortunately no change.
On the other hand, the memory integrity thing is not stupid at all because earlier I had a window that talked about an error with the audio drivers that opened when I did the BIOS manipulation with the shift key.
I just tested it and integrity is disabled, I can't enable the option, it says "Unable to enable memory integrity. Try resolving conflicts with your drivers."
We might be on the right track, any idea how to do it?
