Unable to reconnect my EPSON XP-245 printer Solved

Question

Hello,  I changed my SFR box (now BOX PLUS), and I can no longer reconnect my Epson XP-245 printer to the new wi-fi network. I tried using the WPS button + wifi button on the printer, with the driver via PC, and with an Android phone, nothing works, except for a wired connection, and even then, the scan function is unusable.  Does anyone have the answer? A solution?  Thank you so much :)

Hello,  You need to follow the installation guide... if I understand correctly, you are connected via Wi-Fi to your router..?  So press the WPS button on your router for about 5 seconds... the light will blink, and now you have about 10 minutes to connect...  On the printer, go to the Wi-Fi connection in the menus, you should see this new router in your "Available Networks"... select it and press "Connect" or OK  If the 10 minutes haven't passed, it will connect automatically...  Otherwise, you need to know your Wi-Fi key and enter it manually.

I would like to connect to my router via Wi-Fi, lol  The XP-245 printer doesn't have a screen, so it's going to be difficult to go without any menu... all the FAQs mention a screen while this printer doesn't have one... And I've followed the installation guide, which I know almost by heart by now... otherwise, I wouldn't have come here to ask my question...  With the old router, I just pressed WPS on the router and held down the Wi-Fi button on the printer, and it worked by itself... Now nothing works, and I can't get rid of my old network, which is saved in the printer's settings that I printed out  I don't want to change my printer just because my router has changed!

Sorry if I mixed up the printer models with the previous reader. It should be noted that its real name is: "Expression Home XP-245"  Normally, there’s no need to dramatize; it should eventually work...  Here’s the Epson page for your printer on Windows 10...and 64 bits..?? which I assume is your case. We recommend using the installation program to connect the printer to a computer. You can run the installation program by applying one of the following methods.❏Installation from the websiteVisit the following website and enter the product name.http://epson.snGo to Installation, and click Download in the download and connection area. Click or double-click the downloaded file to run the installation program. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen  The setup is well described...You need to pay attention to certain points, you have to wait or press for 3 seconds, or wait for the indicator light to blink; it's important to follow all of that..  There you go, I hope it works for you..

I think the WiFi settings from your old router are still in your printer.  You need to uninstall all of that, cancel, reset, etc... Then reinstall with the new router...  Be careful with the names of your old and new router and don’t get them mixed up...  I’m surprised that the Epson website https://support.epson.net/setupnavi/ isn’t doing what it should..??  Otherwise, do you have the installation CD..??

That's exactly the problem: I can't reset it ... I used the installation program (no CD since there's no drive in the computers ...), but when it comes to setting up the Wi-Fi connection, the program sends me a message saying that the Wi-Fi connection is impossible ... I'm going to reread the manual you sent me the link to, and see if I missed something ... It still works really well, I don't want to replace it.

Hello,  I finally managed to do it, but honestly, I don't know how ... I restarted the configurator you gave me the link to, which I had already done before, and I got the same message indicating that the installation was impossible. I then restarted the setup a second time, and this time it worked, even though I had already done the same thing just before ... The important thing is that it works, but I hope I won't have to do it again because it's a real mystery.  Thanks again anyway :)

You know, in experiments like that, we repeat the same thing several times, and we try different paths, we modify a thing or two, we activate in one area, deactivate in another... But in fact, we don't really reproduce the same thing each time and not really under the same conditions, nor in the same order... anyway... and at some point it works... The conditions are met.  We still have to say that we weren't aiming randomly. On the contrary, we were following the recommendations... so at some point, we got on track...  It's not a real explanation... because something good happened..!! but we didn't see it.
