Screen and PC Compatibility

Hello,

I would like to know what are "all" the "criteria" for my "screen" and my "PC" to be compatible so that I can use them together?

For example, if my screen supports FreeSync, then the graphics card in my PC must be from AMD.
And so on...

Because if it's from NVIDIA, then it won't be compatible and therefore the PC will not work.

"Certainly, but the components of the screen and the PC must be compatible with each other?"

No, that's not the case. It just requires that the GPU and the screen have at least one identical port (HDMI, DP, DVI, and/or VGA). The AOC 24" LED - 24G2U has 2 HDMI inputs and one DP, so the GPU in your PC needs to have at least one HDMI output or one DP. If your PC isn't from the time of the dinosaurs, it shouldn't be a problem.

CG = graphics card?
DP = ??

So, any monitor works with any PC?
It just needs to have an identical port (e.g., HDMI)?
What cables or other connections are needed from a monitor to the PC?

(If possible)
Can you suggest a PC for 700 euros (max) that would go well with the AOC 24"
if possible. Thank you.

To connect a screen to a PC, you need an HDMI cable or a DP cable (DP = Display Port), etc., depending on the outputs and inputs available on the graphics card and the screen.

Hello,

there is no compatibility between a PC and a monitor or TV, except for gaming consoles.

It all depends on the connections used and their standards, as well as optional adapters.
Then there's the question of the resolution and refresh rates supported by the standards of the connections and displays, but everything adjusts to work at its best, that's all.

The only optional features are HDR, FreeSync or Nvidia Sync, and multi-monitor surround, etc... which are typical of certain graphics cards and monitors to have, but these are possible technologies and not mandatory to make the monitor work.

Edit: When I choose a monitor, I look at the display resolution, connections, refresh rates, and image quality of the panel, that's it, I know that my PC's graphics card supports all resolutions at almost all refresh rates, I just make sure to see if the connections used match; otherwise, I need to consider purchasing an adapter if the monitor I want is a bit old or if I’m dealing with old recycled monitors or others.

It is therefore preferable but not mandatory to have a FreeSync monitor and an AMD graphics card
For better performance?

If you're asking this, it's because you don't know what FreeSync is, so ==> Google.

What can I say? If your screen is said to be FreeSync, it will work without any problem with an NVIDIA GPU.

Certainly, but do the components of the screen and the PC need to be compatible with each other?
Or is it me making a mistake?

Can any screen work with any PC?

I want to buy the AOC 24G2U, if you have a PC (with at least 16GB of RAM if I'm not a difficult customer...) to suggest.

Thank you for clarifying.
