Hello,
Configuration: Linux / Chrome 92.0.4515.107
Hello,
This model can work with 2 types of paper feeding: a front cassette with standard paper and a sporadic rear feed for photo prints with suitable paper.
When I try to print, my printer spends most of the time (at least 90% of the time) telling me that it can't print because there is no paper in the rear tray, even though the front cassette contains all the standard paper needed.
Is it possible to "make it understand" that there is enough paper in the front cassette and that it should stop its obsession with wanting photo paper in the rear tray?
Do other owners of this model have the same problem? As far as I know, no, since my sister and my parents have the same printer (it was while testing my parents' printer that I decided to buy this model)
So what can I do? I am wasting HOURS just to print a single page because my printer seems to have a compulsion about this rear tray that I don't need. How can I make it understand that there is standard paper in the standard tray? What's the problem?
Linux settings? Printer settings? Something else?
Of course, the rear tray is closed, the flap is too, in short, there is no reason for it to bother me with this damn rear tray. Additionally, even putting standard paper in it, it won't print because it's not the right type of paper. And no matter how much I configure it to indicate that there is standard paper in the back tray (when I have the courage or urgency to get to that point), nothing works, it only wants to print using the rear tray and with special paper (agaki or a name like that).
Yet the printers of my parents and my sister have no issues; by the way, the first printer stopped working (systematic paper jams) and was deemed irreparable, so it was exchanged for a new one, and yet the same problem...
I am therefore extremely tempted to smash it and buy another one.
-> There is either a solution and I would like to know what it is, or I will have to give up my investment and buy another model. In that case, if you know of models that work perfectly under Linux (possibly laser), I would appreciate any feedback!
I am using Kubuntu 21.04 (and it was the same under Ubuntu as well as in the standard version of Kubuntu, if I remember correctly, 20.10)
Thank you in advance for your advice!
