Here’s what I usually reply on this topic:
When it comes to applications, manufacturers and broadcasters do as they please. Personally, I have an LG; at first, I had an Orange app that provided access to a lot of radio stations, but it was removed without warning during an update. For replay, I had Pluzz (public service replay) and Arte +7, which also disappeared. As for MyTF1, I only have the paid VOD option. On the M6 replay site, they're asking me to download a "player", but "download impossible". It's all about agreements with the app owners and the TV brand—it's all about money, so these TVs aren't so smart after all, huh? ...;-(
And Arte came back a while ago... go figure...
And:
"Smart TVs connected to the internet also generally offer access to applications (sometimes also called 'Widgets'). Currently, the applications offered vary depending on the brand and the TV, and within the same brand, certain applications may only be accessible on specific models."
