Printer Installation on Win10 S mode

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

As I couldn't find a solution to my situation on similar topics on the site, I am opening a new one.

I am trying to install a HP Photosmart C4472 printer on a Surface Laptop Go with Win10 in S mode.

The PC recognizes this printer (it identifies it as a printer, even shows its name, but since the driver is not installed, we cannot use it), but the online driver library from Microsoft does not provide the correct driver for the Photosmart C4400 Series family.

After searching a bit on the web, Microsoft and HP inform that the "HP Smart" app must be installed for Win10 S mode in order for all HP printers to be recognized.

This printer connects via USB only.

"HP Smart" does not recognize my printer... The app asks me to connect the USB cable to the PC, but after several minutes, it tells me that the printer is not connected via USB...

If anyone has an idea, I'm all ears!
Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Thor-

    Hello Redbart,

    Thank you for your time.

I tried to download this driver from the HP website, but in S mode, Windows refuses to run it...

    Hello,

    Thank you for your ideas.

This PC is intended for an elderly person. S mode has the huge advantage of being streamlined and secure, which makes remote "administration" easier for me.
If I can avoid leaving this mode, I would prefer to do so.

I will try to search online to see if I can find a forum to understand why "HP Smart" does not recognize this printer...

    Thank you,
    See you later.

There is no win10s version in the choices, S for secure, some downloads are simply blocked

Indeed, it is necessary to ask which printer is accepted

I suppose the PC belongs to an organization, hence the S version, to prevent any tampering
    ask the administrator

    Hello everyone,

If I may, and if my memory serves me right, I believe that S mode is indeed minimalist but does not allow the installation of the necessary programs...
And Windows 10 Home is secured in the same way as S mode, if I'm not mistaken?

    Best regards
