Hello hello,

I’m reaching out for help because my printer is starting to drive me crazy.

To give you a brief recap, I got my Epson Stylus sx235w printer 3 years ago, and when I installed it for the first time, it was on my old PC (a portable Acer). I had no issues at all, the WiFi worked perfectly, the installation CD, etc… EVERYTHING was great. That same year I changed computers, and my PC became a Macbook Pro (Mac OS X, version 10.7.5, Intel processor, to be precise). I was a bit worried that I might have trouble reinstalling my printer, but to my surprise, I didn’t even have to use the CD to get it working! You can understand that I didn’t look for a more complicated way...

But that’s where the problems started: I’ve moved several times since then, printer included. The first time it worked perfectly on my neighbor’s Livebox, the second time it worked well on my boyfriend’s Neufbox, but the third time, on my own Freebox, it let me down. Why? I have no idea, so here’s my question(s).

How can I make it work again like before? It’s indicating, according to the lights and my manual, that “an error occurred during the Wifi connection. Press Wifi to fix the error and try again.” Believe me when I say that I’ve tried over and over again. And the “online network guide” doesn’t help me much either! I even tried resetting the network settings, but since there’s no small screen, I don’t even know if it’s doing it right...

Anyway, if there are any Epson geniuses online who can help me, that would be amazing.

If possible, I’d like to avoid buying a cable (I don’t see why it would be necessary since it worked without it the first time), and I’m aware that Epson is a pain, etc., so no need to remind me, it’s not like I’m going to buy a new printer anyway.

Thanks in advance!

I.

Hello,

"...and I know that Epson is shit ... "
This is just the opinion of those who are unable to make the best of the equipment at their disposal.
I've heard the same thing about CANON, BROTHER, LEXMARK, HP, ACER, RENAULT, OKI, PANASONIC, SAMSUNG, BMW, RYOBI, PHILIPPS, TOSHIBA, PIONEER, SONY ...

Each time from the mouths of people who precisely fall into the category of those unable to get anything out of the equipment available to them....
It seems that the incompetent and the incapable only have the option of blaming the equipment to justify their ineptitude.

"...no need to remind me .."
We won't do it, promise!

Does anyone think like me that the problem does not come from the printer, but from the BOX?

See in the freeBOX documentation how to activate WIFI and if it is WPS (WIFI Protected SETUP) compatible.

You need to activate WPS in the configuration of the freeBOX, then press the WIFI pairing buttons on the BOX (or click the corresponding button in the configuration, see freeBOX documentation) and on the printer (the one marked "WIFI"). Then install the drivers on the network workstations specifying "network ..WIFI"

Best regards to everyone, but especially to those who follow my interventions.

I succeeded! But I ended up using the USB cable.
I started by inserting the CD that came with the printer to restart the installation. When it asked if this was the first setup, I said "yes," and later, when it asked to plug in the cable, I did. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough. After doing everything correctly, my computer finally detected the printer (which wasn't the case before) BUT my Mac still indicated that "the driver" whatever wasn't provided by Apple. This meant that you could see your printer in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > "+" but it wasn't usable.
I then proceeded to completely uninstall all possible and imaginable Epson software using the uninstallation software they provide on their site. (With the number of times I tried to install and reinstall it, there was quite a mess on my Mac...)
So I started from scratch, but I knew at least my printer was on the right network! So, I looked in the "drivers and software" offered on the Epson website (in the SX235W printer category), found the most recent driver, downloaded it, installed it, and it worked! After searching for my printer in System Preferences, I added it, and it worked.
So sometimes, you just need to reset everything to make it work...

So for the owners of the Epson Stylus SX235W printer who, like me, are having trouble reinstalling their printer via Wi-Fi (with a MacBook Pro) because there is no installation CD anymore and since they've changed internet service providers... the printer doesn't recognize the SSID of the new box!?? Below, I am providing a link to download "WebNavi1.0" which will replace your CD to reinstall your printer via Wi-Fi, allowing it to connect to the new box. The link:

Have fun and don't print too much (nature!!)

Hello the builder, I need you to advise me to redo the initial setup to connect the printer to the Freebox. Download the software here https://www.epson.eu/support/?lng=fr-BE&data=VkjUmbBFNN19MsB+jPw9T5xAyuOaOrE3sgh3XoiU1+MU003D&id=376704
