Hello,
I have a 2009 IMAC (I believe...) running version 10.6.8 Mac OS X. I have a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4GB of RAM.
I would like to upgrade to another version because I can no longer update Firefox or other programs.
Can someone tell me how I could do that? I admit I'm not very knowledgeable about computers... :-)
Thanks in advance,
Pierre
Configuration: Macintosh / Firefox 48.0

Hello,
If this Mac is from early to mid-2009, it can go up to El Capitan (macOS 10.11); if it is from late 2009, it can go up to High Sierra (macOS 10.13).
It seems that the French Apple links are currently unavailable, but here are the links I was able to find just now:
For El Capitan:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT211683
http://updates-http.cdn-apple.com/2019/cert/061-41424-20191024-218af9ec-cf50-4516-9011-228c78eda3d2/InstallMacOSX.dmg
For High Sierra:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT211683
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/macos-high-sierra/id1246284741?ls=1&mt=12
In any case, I strongly recommend having at least 8 GB of memory installed before changing the OS. The type of memory and the procedure vary depending on the exact model:

Regards.-
Thank you very much!
I made the backup and downloaded El Capitan... I installed it but I have a bug and I'm stuck.
It says OS X could not be installed, no package could be installed, contact the software publisher for help.
Quit the installation program to restart your computer and then try again.
I did that but without success...
Can someone help me because I'm a bit in deep trouble right now...
