Hello, my messaging application is Thunderbird version 78.4.1 (32-bit), and for some time now I have been unable to open my attachments before sending the message (to check if it’s the correct attachment). When I go to Tools, I cannot do anything regarding attachments. Error message: "The attachment could not be opened because the associated auxiliary application does not exist. Change this association in your preferences."

- What type of attachment is it (the part after the dot in its name)?
- Do you have an application on your computer that can open this type of attachment? -
Thank you for your help, the attachments are PDF or Excel files, yes I have the applications capable of opening these attachments. A few days ago it was working fine??

Without going into Tools, you normally just need to double-click on the attachment at the top right of the message to open it for verification. -
That's what I used to do before, but it didn't work anymore. I solved the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird. Thank you for your responses. Regards.
