Hello*
I have a Windows 10 PC and I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird for my email. When I forward one or more attachments, it prompts me for the sending format.
But when I click on attach, the files disappear and never arrive in my email for sending.
I searched for the attachment and found it here: C://Users/D------/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows
Thank you very much for your help.

Hello Dannd,
I’m trying to decipher your message:
I think that what you call "transferring an attachment" just means attaching a file to an email being prepared in Thunderbird. Please confirm.
When you click on attach, where do the attachments disappear from?
For me, when I click on "attach", a window showing the files on the PC in Windows Explorer opens up, and after double-clicking on one of the files to attach, that window closes. Is that what you mean by "the attachments disappear"? Please confirm.
You should see the attachment(s) in the top right corner of your message being prepared:
An attachment does not go into your mail inbox for sending but remains stored in the Thunderbird profile with the message being prepared.
No need to rummage through Windows files. What you found is just a shortcut in Windows in the recent files category and that’s normal because you just selected it!
Nothing unusual and no visible malfunction!
You will have proof by sending yourself an email with an attachment. If you can read the attachment in the received message, everything is perfect.-
Thank you for your response.
I am replying to your message.
When I send a text or photo file from my documents or photos, I have a window that asks me to size my submission. I make my choice and then click on ATTACH. Instead of finding my attachment ready to send in my email box, no window opens for sending... everything has disappeared..
Thank you again for your attention to my request.. -
Sorry, but it's still very unclear!
Several ways to send an attachment with Thunderbird:
- From Windows Explorer: right-click on a file / Send to / recipient
==> Provided that Thunderbird is installed and set as the email client, Windows will call it and prepare an email with the attachment already included in the prepared email. You can see it in the open email, at the top right. Then edit the recipients, the subject of the email, and its text.
-OR-
- Start Thunderbird and click "Write" then click on the paperclip to attach a file.
Everything proceeds as described above.
The message asking you to size your sending likely comes from a Thunderbird add-on. What add-ons do you have installed in Thunderbird?
In any case, the attachment ready to send is not found in your email box. Once again, it is in the message in preparation at the top right that can either be saved in drafts or sent. Do you see it? Yes or no?
If you're doing it differently, please explain better.
For better understanding, please be precise in describing the actions you are taking.
Have you tried sending yourself a message with an attachment? Result?
P.S: Vocabulary issue: Your mailbox is not Mozilla Thunderbird, but the one at your Internet service provider that Thunderbird knows about.
Thunderbird is your email software that runs locally on your PC and communicates with your ISP's servers.
