Linksys WRT54GS in access point mode

Hello,

I have a 4G "Flybox" router connected to RJ45 outputs and a switch for other devices like TV, Sonos, and printer. Everything works well, but I have a long house with very thick walls, so I want to use my Linksys WRT54GS router as a Wi-Fi access point. This way, I can connect it via RJ45 and cover an area with Wi-Fi.

The installation CD is buggy; do I need it, and how can I set everything up? I'm at my limits with network knowledge, and I don't want to mess everything up. I don't see the Linksys on the network; is that normal?

Thank you

    Hello
The CD is not necessary to set up this Linksys.
You need to connect it behind a PC with DHCP, the Linksys (after reset) has the IP 192.168.1.1 to enter in your browser, Username and Password admin by default
    See you later

Thank you Mcintosh, that’s what I just noticed. I turned off my 4G router and I managed to access the WRT software by connecting my laptop to the RJ45 output of my WRT, but then I’m a bit stuck with the configuration. The problem is that my 4G router has the address 192.168.1.1, so as soon as I connect it, I no longer have access to the settings of my Linksys. How can I assign another address to it? Should I disable DHCP or something else?

    Thank you

    Hello,
    https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37585052-routeur-en-point-d-acces
first, set up the linksys by disconnecting it from everything except your PC via Ethernet:
disable the DHCP server and assign an IP address of 192.168.1.200 (for example) with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 on its LAN.
Then, connect the LAN of the linksys to the LAN of the 4G.
After that, you will be able to configure it from either the 4G network or the linksys network, mainly to set up the wifi.
