Hello,
Every time I create a blank document, a frame appears; I have to select it, right-click to access "Frame Format," and finally "Remove Frame"!
Even after that, every time I copy and paste a table, it ends up in a frame...
Can you help me prevent this, please?

Good evening,
Hi Raymond ;)
For your information, this frame is an old formatting style that is rarely used nowadays although still useful in certain cases.
It is not at all meant to indicate where we are in the filling of the page.
A frame behaves a bit like a text box that can be moved with the mouse. Except that, indeed, it is part of the style. So having put a frame for the Normal style, let's just say it's impossible to create a proper document with this! You can't even modify the layout, the margins, etc.
Frames existed before text boxes (yes, that's ancient history! ;)). They have been kept by Microsoft because some features are not compatible with text boxes. For example, you cannot insert a footnote reference, an index entry, or certain fields like an AUTONUM field in a text box, whereas all this is possible with frames.
When I look at this document, I think you should rename your Normal.dotm template (to whatever you want) so that Word can create a new nice and above all correct template. Because if you remove the frame from the Normal style, it’s good but I’m afraid it won’t be enough... I have the impression that the other styles also have the frame and that it will be kept even after modifying the Normal style.

From now on, if a user tells me "it doesn't work" without more information..., I'm giving up!

You should send your Word file: a blank document and a document containing a table do not have the same appearance ... And a table is always surrounded by a border!

2) Click on [Browse] to select your file (maximum 15 MB)
3) Scroll down to click on the blue button [Create Cjoint link]
4) After a few seconds, the second page will appear, with the link in bold; right-click on it and choose "Copy link"

Raymond (INSA, AFPA)
- Right-click on HOME/Styles/Normal
- Modify ...
- [Format] (at the bottom left)
- Border ...
- [Remove border] (at the bottom left) / [OK]
- Check O "New documents based on this template". / [OK]
That said, nothing prevents you from keeping this border, which precisely indicates where you are in filling your page, and which, in any case, does not appear when printed ...
Another observation: this border did not appear by itself, as it is not in the factory settings of the software! So you must have added it one day and saved it as the default page format ...

Thank you for this suggestion, Raymond... but it doesn't work!
I don't know how this frame appeared. I've modified my default doc (margins, font...) but I don't remember inserting a frame... and I can't get rid of it permanently!
Even in my documents without a frame (after eliminating it), copy-pastes often end up in a frame (images, texts, tables...) ; it's annoying!
Thanks also to Marina... but again, it doesn't work: impossible to rename, delete, or modify Normal.dot... The message "This action cannot be completed because the file is open in Word. Close the file and try again." appears (even though Word is closed)!
