Hello
I left my MacBook Pro in an unheated room overnight at cool or possibly negative temperatures.
I have been unable to turn it on since, despite heating the whole house to over 20 degrees.
Do you have any solutions to try to restart the machine?
I should mention that I have already tried some key combinations that have proven unsuccessful so far.
Thank you in advance for your help

Hello,
No, no change. Only the light on the charging cable remains green, indicating that the battery is charged.
It's a 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 13''.

Hello,
Thank you very much for all this information. I tried resetting the SMC but it didn't work.
Not being equipped for this kind of tinkering, I will follow your advice and take it to an Apple store, hoping that it really is the battery and the quoted price.

Hello,
I think your Mac has caught a cold as you mentioned in the title of your topic. Check if its battery is not damp. A preliminary explanation here: https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT201640

Hello,
You say two things that seem contradictory to me, namely "...impossible to turn it on..." and "...I've already tried combinations of keys..."
If you have tried combinations of keys, it means that pressing the Power button makes the Mac start up but not enough to be able to use it normally.
So could you clarify what happens when you press the Power button:
- do you see the Power button light up?
- do you see the screen light up?
- do you hear the typical sound emitted by a Mac at startup?
- does the screen display anything (the apple logo, a progress bar, a symbol, and which one, ...)?
Regarding the key combinations:
The key combination must be held down until the desired effect occurs.
Could you clarify if you did it that way and indicate the key combinations you tried at startup?

Hello Ritchi,
You're right, I will clarify my remarks.
It's very simple: when I press the power button, nothing happens. No light, no sound, the screen remains desperately black.
I tried to do a Power Cycle as well as the combination: Alt + Command + P + R for at least 15 seconds, but it didn't work (it had worked a few weeks ago when we had the same problem).
There you go, I hope I have clarified my issue.

Hello
And when it is connected to the charger, does its behavior change? For example, does the Power button light up, does the Mac start up, ...
In order to know if a battery change could be done by you or a technician, could you specify the exact model of this Mac (year, screen size, Retina display or not, ...)?

Hello,
You can try resetting the SMC:
On a Mac laptop with a non-removable battery (like your MacBook Pro), you need to turn it off, unplug the MagSafe adapter, then press and hold the 3 keys (the ones on the left) Shift, Ctrl, Option ( ⌥ ) AND the power button simultaneously. Keep these 3 keys and the power button pressed for at least 10 seconds, then release them all at once. You can then start the Mac.
According to the iFixIt website (“I fix it”) providing repair tutorials (here's the link for your Mac https://fr.ifixit.com/Tutoriel/Remplacement+de+la+batterie+du+MacBook+Pro+15-Inch+Retina+mi-2014/90276), replacing the battery in this MacBook Pro 13" is:
- rated as “difficult”,
- may take between 45 minutes and 2 hours
- uses extremely flammable solvents because the battery is glued inside the MacBook Pro ( :-( thanks Apple!! )
Therefore, replacing this battery yourself is not recommended for anyone who does not have the proper tools and experience.
A battery for this Mac model costs just over a hundred euros.
According to this Apple site ( https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/mac/repair/service ), it will cost you €209 to go to them.

I assumed that the cold was the source of the problem since this has happened before and the machine had restarted. Other than that, the computer has never shown any particular issues.
