Keyboard and mouse issues during Windows 7 installation

Hello everyone,
I just bought a license key for Windows 7 Ultimate from lalicence.fr, so I uninstalled the old operating system and installed the new one, and when I restart the computer to finalize the installation, I can't use the keyboard and mouse to move past the window that asks for the language choice and click on next.

I've really tried a lot of manipulations, removed the motherboard battery, unplugged the power supply, pressed the power button on the computer for 30 seconds with the power supply unplugged, created a bootable USB drive with the Windows ISO on it to install via the BIOS
...

It's a custom-built PC, so if you need to know anything, feel free to ask.

    that's scary! a Windows without drivers for USB devices...
    do you have a PS2 keyboard and mouse?

    did you install it with immediate update?

      First of all, thank you for paying attention to my issue.
      I bought a keyboard and a mouse "the g lab" at Micromania for cheap and they worked very well under the old operating system.

        It's not the problem > check what we're telling you:
        "If you are using the keyboard and mouse via USB, make sure they are not connected to blue USB ports (3.0) > use black USB ports (2.0)"

    Otherwise, what's the point of installing full Win7?

      That was it, I plugged an old mouse into a black USB port and it works. Thank you very much, I didn't think it would be that obvious.

      Windows 7 because I'm more comfortable with it and I find the interface more practical. But indeed the question is relevant, do you advise me to get a refund and switch to a more recent Windows? And which one?

        It's a "classic" > USB 3.0 drivers are not loaded with Win 7
        > First thing to do: install the Win 7 updates > there are more than 180...
        > Second thing to do: update the drivers
        and all of this takes quite a bit of time...

        Otherwise, Win 7 has not been updated since January 2020 (except maybe the pro and ultimate versions until the end of the year...)
        > Win 10 was released in July 2015 and is more appropriate.
