No sound after video extraction with VLC

Hello,
For some time now, when I want to extract a piece of video with VLC, which is very simple, I no longer have any sound! I can't restore it even though there was no problem before
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

    So the "classic" method, I suppose... I start my video, I click the red circle to start the clip... and I click the red circle again to mark the end of the clip, that has always worked well for both image and sound, and now, most of the time, I only have the image and no sound...

      try the less conventional method
      media
      convert
      add file
      show more options
      set start time and end time
      convert
      create a conversion profile
      for example mp4
      with keep original audio and video
      save the profile
      choose a destination file
      start

    Hello! I just tried with a movie where the sound didn't come out. It works and I thank you very much; it's still less convenient than the classic method for choosing excerpts, but it's better than mute!

      sometimes VLC can be temperamental with certain videos, without really knowing why
      even a name that's too long can bother it!
