Cut a video with vlc

Hello,
unfortunately my video is in flv format
with VLC I've tried to convert it, it works except that there’s apparently no sound, I think I need to multiplex it but I don't know how to do that.

Anything goes, you can do it with VLC!!
Open VLC empty, then go to "File" and "Streaming Assistant".

In the new window, choose "Transcode/Save".

Then, leave "Select a stream" checked and choose the stream in question (video).

Once you've selected the video, check "Enable" located under Partial Extraction and below, enter the times of the selected sequence in SECONDS!!

Then, the Transcode window allows you to choose the type of video encoding (mpeg, mp4, ogg, etc...) and audio encoding.

Next, "Encapsulation method" lets you choose how the video will be encapsulated (don't choose OGG format if you previously selected MP4)

And then, choose the destination file that will hold your cut video, start it and wait.

However, once the job is done, the video will be raw (no extension at the end of the file), it's up to you to rename it in the appropriate format (.mp4, .wav, .ogg, etc...)

For your information, I did this with VLC version 0.8.6, but it should be the same for version 0.9.

what should we put in transcode and encapsulation method???? it's Chinese for me..... I want to continue reading my excerpt in VLC format

I have "iMovie" on my Mac, but I don't know how to edit my film... I just want to be able to split it in two so I can transfer it to my hard drive...

In that case, you start recording a part (the big red button). Click once on the button at the beginning of the movie, and once again whenever you want to stop the recording. However, on a Mac, I don't know where the recording is located. Google should help you! :)

non "view" is apparently only on Windows

But are you racist towards Linux or what? ^^' The "view" exists on Linux.
