Hello,
I have an ongoing sound issue on my PC.
The sound indicates that no audio output device is installed.
I have already tried several methods but can’t get it to work again.
I won’t detail the methods to start over with the manipulations from scratch, ensuring I haven't missed anything.
My PC is an Asus laptop with Windows 10, and the model should be X554L.
I can't find it on the Asus website to reinstall drivers if that's where the problem lies...
And if needed, when I run the DXDIAG command, it gives me the model X555LAB.

Hello,
Perhaps try installing this driver: Audio_Realtek_Win10_64_VER6017571.zip.
Best regards.

It's done, still no sound, but at least now the driver is present in the device manager.
It shows up with an orange triangle to signal a problem and when I check the properties of this driver, it displays that the driver cannot start (code 10). -

There are 6 models on the market: X554LJ or D or P or A or I or N.
There must be a letter following the L
The code 10 indicates a driver-related issue, indeed.
On the concerned line, in the Device Manager, apply what is suggested on this PAGE, copy and paste the hardware ID number in a next response.

There is no letter after the X554L, that's why I can't find it on the Asus website
And the identification number is: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0233&SUBSYS_104319AD&REV_1000
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0233&SUBSYS_104319AD
There were 2, so I put them in order.-

Yes, if you download and install Aida64, for example, and you display the Summary of the PC analysis, this letter will likely be shown.
Aida 64 is in evaluation version but it's sufficient to check the PC. Downloadable HERE.
However, billmaxime, whom I also greet, suggests manually installing the driver from his link, maybe give it a try!

I installed Aida64 but I can't find anything, no X554L.
But I have a X555LAB for the motherboard and for the audio card I have:
Intel Wildcat Point-LP PCH - High Definition Audio Controller [F0]
Maybe I looked in the wrong place. I opened Aida64 then Computer then Summary but I couldn't find the model.

Upon restarting the computer, there is still no sound and the device has also disappeared from the list.
The only thing I can say that might be useful is that in the services application
The Automatic Configuration Service for devices connected to the network on the computer started (because I have to start it, otherwise it doesn't start by itself even on automatic) and then stopped. -
Hi Glg29 and Mstr_K,
the device is installing and uninstalling... what is this mess...
@ Mstr_K
was the PC originally on W8.1 or W10?
PS: test Glg29's driver in this message click here
check if the device appears in the device manager

Hello to both of you,
as proposed by Glg29 in his message 39 --> click here
you can do a scan with FRST (from Fabar)
if you open a new topic in Virus/Security, please post the link in this message or via PM so we can follow your topic
otherwise, you can run FRST in this topic and post the reports, I will read the reports
follow this procedure:
download FRST from (Fabar) to your desktop
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/
PS: take the one corresponding to your PC (32 or 64 bits)
https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/169-32-bits-ou-64-bits-comment-savoir/
run it as administrator (right-click)
