Edirol FA-101 sound card issue

First of all, hi everyone,

Here is my problem:
I purchased an Edirol FireWire FA-101 card about a year and a half ago, and everything was working perfectly until last night when I turned on my PC and the FA-101. The PC no longer recognizes it. I restarted my PC several times as well as the card, knowing that the drivers are correctly installed, and everything was normal yesterday morning. After a lot of hassle, I changed the slot for the PCI FireWire card (3 ports) to which my FA-101 is connected, and it didn't work either. It is known that this last one is recognized by the XP operating system in:
control panel
network connection
I have "1394 connection"
or
device manager
network card
I have "1394 network card"
and under the IEEE 1394 bus host controller
I have VIA OHCI compatible host controller.

The only solution I found afterwards is to completely uninstall everything and reinstall it all. But here’s the worst part, after the driver setting dialog box for the Edirol FA-101 appears, and after clicking install and at the request of the second dialog box (drivers will be installed, please connect the FA-101 to the computer via the FireWire cable and turn it on), I turn it on and connect it to the PC with the FireWire cable, and there is nothing; no window or message appears saying new hardware found, or welcome to the new hardware detection wizard as it did during the first installation and use. Furthermore, I even formatted my PC and reinstalled the operating system, but the problem still resides. I even went to a friend's PC that has a working FireWire card because he first tested his camcorder and it works, but for my Edirol FA-101, the same problem occurred. I also tried this card on a laptop with another cable, but still nothing; it is no longer recognized by any of these three PCs.
My Edirol FA-101 is no longer recognized by my PC or my friends' PCs, but during all these attempts, everything seems perfect; the power indicator is on, and the FireWire indicator on the card is also lit, confirming its connection to my PC. There is also a light in the optical digital output connector that is still visible to me as before, during its proper functioning.
My Edirol FA-101 has a problem, but I don't know what it is.
If anyone can help me.
Thank you.

For my configuration
PC P4 1GB RAM 3MHz
Motherboard Isis
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

Thank you Frank for your response, but I don't see a relationship between the Realtek drivers as a card or brand if I understood your response correctly.
Yes, it is true that I have an integrated AC97 card on the motherboard, which is indeed this Realtek brand, but since I started using the Edirol card, the drivers for both cards have always been installed on my PC and both functions.
By default, if the Edirol card is not turned on, the AC97 card is recognized as the card, but Windows directly recognizes the Edirol FA101 if it is turned on.
If you could clarify your response further, I would be very grateful.

HELLO, THE ISSUE DOES NOT COME FROM EDIROL BUT FROM A DRIVER THAT HAD DISAPPEARED FROM THE COMPUTER. HERE'S WHAT WE DID WITH A FRIEND: 1. WE REINSTALLED WINDOWS PRO 2. WE DOWNLOADED A NEW DRIVER FROM THE EDIROL WEBSITE 3. I REINSTALLED EDIROL FA101 FOLLOWING THE NORMAL PROCEDURE. BY THE WAY, THE DRIVERS THAT HAD DISAPPEARED FROM THE COMPUTER ARE WDMA 400 AND NT4A400, CHECK IF THEY ARE STILL PRESENT ON YOURS. 4. THEN YOU GO TO THE CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS AND DEVICES, AND CHECK THAT EDIROL IS PRESENT. THE PROCEDURE IS DIFFERENT FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK ON MY MUSIC WITH ABLETON LIVE 5, AND THE COMPUTER IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT REALTEK WAS TAKING OVER EDIROL, AND I NO LONGER HAD SOUND INPUTS, EVEN THOUGH THE OUTPUTS WORKED NORMALLY. I CAN'T SAY MORE. GOOD LUCK, AND FOR ME, EVERYTHING IS WORKING.

    Hello,
I want to burn photos with a music background but it didn't work due to hardware not supported: 101. What is the 101?

For me, who had a USB infection that can infect all ports, it may cause your sound card to stop working.
The solution is to reformat your sound card and then do the same for your PC because you must have connected an infected product to a port. *That's it.

I have a problem. I bought an EDIROL FA 101, but when I installed it, the thing is I have no sound coming from the machine at all, not even when I listen to an MP3. I'm stuck in a pretty unpleasant situation. Please help me :)

I just bought the Edirol FA 101 and installed it on my PC, but I only had one FireWire cable (large format), so I went to buy the other one the next day.
The next day I connected both and bam, it doesn't recognize anything anymore.
After 15 driver uninstallations and 2 of my Windows XP, I admit I'm a bit fed up, especially since the customer service is closed until January 5.
Please help me, or else it's going out the window!

Given your spelling and syntax, it's quite natural that your FA 101 card doesn't work! (lol!)

"Orthography" is feminine, so "vus" is actually written "vues", just saying, it's not the point...

Same problem... My FA101 has served me well for years and all of a sudden nothing... it's no longer detected by my Mac or my two PCs... This rules out a driver issue, I think it's more of a hardware problem, even though everything seems to be working...
      Any ideas?

It's really a shame to see that 4/5 years after its release, and given its fairly high price (almost €400), it is no longer usable on Windows 7 64 bit!!! It doesn't even recognize the hardware anymore!!
a shame "roland" of a scam
