Hello,

Here is my problem: Following the disappearance of the scanning functions from the Quick Menu of my CANON MG 5750 printer, I first tried to reinstall only the Quick Menu software. Since that didn't work, I completely uninstalled the printer software to start over.... Now, nothing works because the installation of MPDrivers crashes with the following message: Unable to create port: 0000 for XPS, and I am told that it needs to be configured. What is XPS and how do I do it????

For your information, my PC running Win10 and the printer are new. The initial installation of the printer was successful, even though I had to restart MPDrivers several times. I have another PC connected to this WIFI printer over the network, and everything is normal...... The printer is recognized during the installation process.....

Thank you for your help........

    Hello ...

In principle, this printer should be recognized by Windows 10...

In my opinion, you should first uninstall anything that has been installed and is not working and try as indicated below

    1-Open the Control Panel
    2-Devices and Printers
3-Add a printer (at the top)
4-The indicated printer is not ..... (click on it >> then next)
5-Add a local or network printer (at the bottom) >> Next
6-Use an existing port >> Next
7-Click on Windows Update >> Next
8-Let it search ... then in the window that will open ..
    9-Left column >> Canon >> Right column >> Canon MG5700 series ...
10-Next and follow the installation >> Plug in the USB cable when the system asks

See screenshot image link ► Here

A+ for your upcoming comments.... But if none ► Resolved

      Hello,

Sorry for the late reply, but, misfortunes never come alone, I’m currently having major issues with my Internet connection as well.

Anyway, I followed the procedure you gave me, but it was unsuccessful. Everything goes well until step No. 9 (setting aside the fact that the printer is detected from step No. 3, I suppose that's because it's connected via Wi-Fi), then the installation window seems to be stuck (no progress bar, all functions inactive, and I can only close it through the task manager). Of course, as a result, I’m not asked to plug in the USB cable and the system doesn’t restart.

      I must have missed something....

      Thanks for your help.

      Hello,

I had completely uninstalled everything before following your procedure, but nothing worked so I ended up contacting CANON support.

They told me that there was actually a compatibility issue between their driver installation file and certain versions of Windows 10 and/or their updates.

They had me perform some manipulations on this file so that it would work, and now everything is back in order..... I hope this lasts despite future Windows updates......

In any case, thank you again for your help.

Have a great end of the day.

    Hello,

You uninstall everything by going to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
Then you take the provided CD and you perform the installation.
I don't understand why you needed to download drivers that should be the ones on the CD.

      Hello,

I successfully uninstalled it, the problem was the reinstallation..... (see above)
For this, generally, I download from the manufacturer's website to get the latest version..... but this time it wasn't lucky for me......

      Thank you.
