Unable to install Canon MX475 printer

Hello, I'm reaching out to you because I'm having an issue with my printer since I changed my computer.

Indeed, with my old laptop, it detected the printer via Wi-Fi very well and the installation went smoothly.

Now I've changed to a new laptop which has Windows 10 Home, and when I try to reinstall my printer, I launch the driver for installation, the printer is found, and after a few seconds, it says: unable to create a new port: 0000

I should mention that when checking the settings on my Livebox to see if there's a Wi-Fi issue, I can see my new laptop connected via Wi-Fi and the printer also connected via Wi-Fi, so there might be a connection problem between the laptop and the printer.

When I search for a printer in the "Add Printer" section of the Control Panel, my printer is not detected.

The drivers I tried to install are up to date and come from Canon, whom I contacted, and they tried to guide me through some steps but without success.

My laptop doesn't have a CD drive so I can't use an installation CD, and I don't have a cable to connect the printer to the laptop, so I really need to get it to work via Wi-Fi.

Could you please help me?

Thank you in advance.

Hello

try this trick (seen on ccc)
When installing, you must choose Add a local printer (that's the catch, you MUST NOT choose add a network or Wi-Fi printer! then select create a new port..
