Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my MacBook Air. For several days now, Chrome has not been working... Let me explain: when I try to open the app, a window appears that shows a message asking me to choose whether to reopen the windows from my previous session or to continue. The problem is that the application does not respond and I can't choose between these two options. I also can't click on the menus at the top left (file, preferences...). After a while, the app closes by itself.

I have obviously tried turning my computer off and on again, uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome, but the same problem persists... And despite my searches on various forums, I can't find a solution to my issue.

I want to point out that other browsers work fine (like Safari, for example), but I really need Chrome (especially for its various plug-ins).

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Probably an incomplete uninstallation of Chrome. (corrupted preference files).
Chrome installs several files and folders all over the Mac...

To find all the files and folders related to Google Chrome, you need to perform a thorough search using EasyFind... there are quite a few.

But initially, try deleting it by placing it in an AppCleaner window that you can find here:
https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

EDIT: after using AppCleaner, the Google folder will remain in the "Application Support" folder of your personal Library, as well as the Google folder directly at the root of your personal Library - you need to delete those as well.

To access your library:
https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37636370-acceder-a-la-bibliotheque-utilisateur-sous-mac-os

If that’s not enough, we’ll delete everything related to Google.

Thank you. The complete uninstallation following your different steps worked well :).
