Black cartridge leaking in HP Photosmart 5510 printer

Hello everyone,
I have a printing problem with my printer; the color cartridges are working, but the black one won't print at all. I've noticed that it's leaking inside!
I took it to a repair shop thinking it was something minor, but he said it's just as good to change the printer as to get it repaired.
I'm turning to you because I'm a novice in this kind of troubleshooting. Should I replace the entire print head or just the nozzle?
I really don't support our consumer system, the throwaway mentality if it can be repaired.
