Hello
I have a problem; I just configured all the messaging on my computers, and whenever Outlook is open, it constantly asks me to enter the password, even though the "remember password" option is checked.
Thank you for your help

Hello everyone
I had the same problem. I solved it this way.
1- In Outlook, delete all email accounts.
2- Turn off the PC and restart.
3- In Outlook, click "?" to detect and repair (follow the procedure)
4- Turn off the PC and restart.
5- Recreate your email accounts while testing the connection. In the outgoing server, do not check the box "my server requires............." In connection, check the box "connection using my local network"
And there you go, everything works now, I hope the same will happen for those who have this problem.
See you later, keep me posted.......Thanks

Hello,
Same problem on Outlook 2007 and Win 7
Everything I read didn’t work, even less so
the explanations from Microsoft... what a mess their explanations are! ! !
As for me, I located the scanpst.exe file, then as its name suggests, I scanned and repaired the .pst email file.
Everything is fine since then! Good luck!

Hello
To stop having this password prompt, here’s what I did in Outlook 7:
Tools, Account Settings, Change, More Settings, Connection
Check "Connect using Internet" and ok
The process should be the same in Outlook 2003
Best regards

Hello,
I checked "Connect using the Internet" but it still doesn't work.
I've tried quite a few things following Microsoft's support instructions, but nothing works.
I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2003.
If you have any other ideas, please suggest them because I'm at my wit's end!!!
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Resolved on Outlook 207 by emptying the deleted items folder, this should certainly repair the .pst file.

I have the same problem, I'm really fed up with Microsoft!!!
I've tried everything:
- Deleting all accounts
- Deleting the key in the registry
- Recreating the accounts
- Restarting the computer 15 times between each step...
Nothing works, this f***ing Outlook keeps asking me for the password, whereas if I go through Gmail (importing the account via POP), it works perfectly
If anyone has a REAL tip to make it work, I'm all ears ;)
Thanks a lot!

Same problem for me on Outlook 2003 with Windows SP. I checked and updated the program, the settings, cleared the messaging on the server, etc., only to find that the issue was due to the Wifi communication, which was probably experiencing micro-outages. Each time Outlook tries to connect unsuccessfully, it "responds" by asking for the username and password. I replaced the Wifi card and everything went back to normal.
Hello everyone,
I have exactly the same problem as David, and this only since I changed my PC and reinstalled all the software under Windows Vista. I am using Outlook from Office XP and it asks for the password for all accounts (whether it’s with Free or Laposte.net), despite the "remember passwords" box being checked.
I have a similar issue with Money 2002.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Incompatibility between Vista and remembering passwords?
Account user configuration issue? (I am registered as Administrator...)
Thanks to those who could help us, David and me...
See you soon,

Hello,
under Windows 7 / Outlook 2003 and Free as an ISP, I had the same annoying password prompt message:
After trying various fixes, what worked was incredibly simple:
Just go to Tools/Accounts/View/Modify my Free account, I simply clicked the mouse pointer after pop.free.fr and smtp.free.fr, and on the other lines (username, email address, etc.) as if I had rewritten them and closed it all without even restarting, and that damn message hasn’t appeared again.
Let’s see if that works for you?
P.S.: Did this have anything to do with a recent firmware update of the Freebox plus a Microsoft update??? ..... I don’t know.
So for now: RESOLVED .........

Hello everyone,
some say the solution is here

But it's a bit complex.
Good luck.

Good evening Fanchou,
I don't understand much about this message. The two-factor authentication was for Gmail accounts and not Outlook. So, I don't see how one could enter the password for a Gmail account with an Outlook account. Something is escaping me. Thank you for informing me. I actually have a problem with my Outlook password being requested incessantly and being rejected as well, for IMAP, so I'm not receiving any messages anymore. It is true that the SMTP is Gmail.
Thank you for your response.
