Hello,
Hello,
I bought a LENOVO laptop in December and I've noticed that the battery level drops even when it's not in use! I've just done several tests and if I charge it to 100% in the evening, I find it the next morning at the startup time at 84 or 68%...
I want to point out that since it was turned on, I've made sure to follow the guidelines which state to charge it when it's around 30% and I don't leave it plugged in for long (I unplug it as soon as it's charged). I use it very little since I'm not home during the day and I don't carry it with me.
I don't understand what's happening that causes the battery level to drop without any activity.
Thank you for your feedback.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 79.0.3945.130

Return after a few days: This post is only meant to provide information to those who, like me, have searched for a long time for a solution to a battery problem that discharges even when the computer is "officially" turned off. Since I found a workaround after struggling a bit, I'm sharing it:
Context for reference:
- New computer (December) – I realized over the days that when I got up in the morning, the battery went from 100% (plugged in charging / then unplugged) to 80% when I woke up if I left it on battery overnight.
First step: battery replacement since the device was still under warranty.
- Back home: same situation, same observation: the battery was discharging.
- Battery tests showed it was in excellent condition. All my settings were correct to ensure that the computer's shutdown was not just a simple sleep mode.
- I started by disabling fast startup because it is not essential, but that was not the solution.
- My observation: it was the presence of connected USB devices that caused the battery level to drop when the computer was off. Simple to verify by plugging and unplugging USB devices over the hours. The issue was therefore there, but I wasn't going to unplug my USB ports every night (or even when I used them during the day and then turned off the computer). On a new device, everything should have worked.
- I discovered thanks to the internet that on new devices, UEFI replaces BIOS and that there was a command in UEFI regarding the USBs. It was indicated in the list
ALWAYS ON USB .... ENABLED / so it was necessary to switch to the other option: DISABLED
So that my USBs would not be active all the time.
This action resolved the problem! However, it is surprising and disappointing to find that customer service did not check this point, as I had attached a document to the device explaining what was happening, but they changed the battery while the problem was elsewhere.
So, take a look at the BIOS or UEFI if you are in the situation I just mentioned.
I still have an error code in the "energy" analysis regarding the fact that the USBs do not go into selective suspend mode (even though it is properly selected) but it doesn't matter as it doesn't seem to impact functionality.

I have the same battery consumption problem with my new Asus Laptop. I've also tried different things, such as disabling Fast Startup (which now allows the PC to shut down...), as well as modifying other power settings, but without success. The battery still drains, even when the PC is off!
I'm going to go into the BIOS or UEFI to see if I can Disable the USB ports. However, my mouse turns off when the PC closes, so I’m not sure if the USB ports are actually active when the PC is off.
Okay, so I’ll check that out...
Back here: Well apparently, in the BIOS of my Asus I can't find the option to change anything regarding the USB ports.
So I’ll keep looking because my battery consumption problem when the PC is off is still not resolved. And I think it must be a matter of settings rather than a battery failure because this PC is new... At home, the battery drops by 18% in 13 hours, so in less than 4 days it’s at 0...
Problem solved thanks to you
Thank you so much :)
