Hello,
I just bought a HP PAVILION DV6000 laptop with Vista.
The problem is that I plug in the battery but it doesn't charge; it says plugged in, not charging.
I saw on a forum that someone had the same issue and that they updated the BIOS and now it works fine;
I've never done a BIOS update and I don't want to mess up my laptop.
I also don't want to return my laptop as it took me 2 months to receive it instead of one week.
Thank you for your tips and other advice.

Hello everyone!!!
I had the same problem as everyone else on this forum, and I think I have solved the issue. I have an HP 6000 and the battery wasn't charging anymore. So, I removed the battery while keeping the power cord plugged in and the PC on. I waited for the small icon at the bottom right of the Vista desktop to show me that the battery was no longer there. Then, I put the battery back in its place, still with the PC on, and miracle of miracles, when I hover over the icon at the bottom right it shows me "plugged in, charging." I hope this helps you, good luck!
