Hello,
I noticed that my landline phone wasn't charging anymore because the small battery in the upper right kept blinking. Since I only had regular batteries on hand, I put them in. Problem: the phone still hasn’t charged for 2 days! So today I'm going to buy rechargeable batteries and the battery icon at the top keeps blinking like before. So I'm thinking there’s a problem with the phone. I'm going to buy a new one, the same as the one I have, and with new rechargeable batteries it's worse! The icon is still blinking and I can't make calls. So I'm taking this unwanted item back to the store right away and retrieving my old landline that I had given for recycling, I can receive and make calls, phew. But my problem is still the same, that damn icon keeps blinking all the time! SFR assures me that everything is fine with the box and the phone line. Can someone explain and help me because I work by phone for long hours, so if I don't have a functional tool? Thanks to everyone who will kindly help me. Best regards.

I am a 62-year-old lady and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. Thank you to people like you who invest themselves to help.
Hello everyone
Thank you for helping to solve my phone issue.
I just wanted to share the solution.
I had put a regular battery in my phone as I didn't have a rechargeable one on hand, which completely drained my phone, hence the icon kept flashing and my phone continued to discharge because it wasn't the right batteries. Two days ago, I put in "recharged" batteries and the light was still flashing, but miraculously this morning everything is back to normal. QED: rechargeable batteries are not fully recharged, which is why the icon kept flashing and it took 3 days for the charge to be complete.
Some of you touched on the problem but never mentioned that rechargeable batteries should be charged before use.
Thank you all for your participation. In any case, it allowed me to fully check my setup from A to Z, to give SFR a hard time who told me it was my power outlet, and to get reimbursed for the purchase of a new phone at the store (by the way, I still don't understand why I couldn't receive calls).
Thank you all

Batteries are usually sold charged, not completely empty, but they may have lost some of their charge while waiting on the store shelves, like batteries do, which is more problematic because it's a pure waste of energy.

Glad to know that your device has finally reached a full charge.
Indeed, new batteries are not charged to the maximum. They allow for operation.
Remember that the battery icon indicates several things: fully charged, initial charging, charging, almost empty.
Regarding your issue with the new phone.
In general, when you unplug and then replug the phone to a box, it often happens that it has problems either in reception or transmission. Simply cutting the power supply to the box for a minute resolves the issue.
You were probably in that situation...
Have a good day.

Hello,
I still have the problem; I saw that the phone had rechargeable batteries, so I put some in and it didn't work.
I bought the most expensive batteries, they lasted for a 1-hour call and now it's dead again!
Does the phone want a vacation??
I don't know what to do. I'm trying again with the rechargeable batteries, but I doubt it because I've already done that.

OK... base with answering machine... so it's easy to see that it's under tension, answering machine in service, the display is on.
That said, it's normal since the phone is working.
But we still don't know what this flickering battery icon means.

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.

But we still don't know what this flickering battery icon means.
- everything flickers outside and inside, we are in the initial charging phase (new batteries).
- only the inside flickers, fixed outside, the batteries are almost fully charged.
- the outside flickers, inside steady, the batteries are almost completely discharged.

So nothing unusual....
New battery, we are in initial charging.
If you use the phone a lot, it is possible that it doesn't really have time to reach a full charge.
To achieve a complete charge, Alcatel recommends 15 hours of continuous charging without using the phone... this can therefore take a long time if the phone is in use.

Hello,
We need to know the brand ... and the MODEL of this phone...
Is it a phone that is connected behind a BOX... via the internet??
-- Is the blinking light indeed the battery indicator??
-- You should NEVER replace a rechargeable battery with a disposable battery... Never.
-- Are there several "wireless" telephone units...? And is this one a secondary unit..?
-- The battery charger may be malfunctioning... or unplugged from the socket... or the socket has no power...? Here are some things to check...
Answer each of these questions first... and we'll see afterwards.

Good evening
This is a unique Alcatel 530 phone, no other phone, it is not connected behind the box but to a telephone socket that is connected to the box itself. It is indeed the charging indicator. As for the wiring, everything should be fine since the phone works for incoming and outgoing calls. Just that damn icon that is flashing and not charging. Thank you for your quick response. If you have any other solutions? Thank you and best regards.

No, we can't conclude that.
Thank you for your answers...
Your phone can still work, thanks to the battery inside that isn't dead yet... But it won't last long...
We can't say everything is fine, since you have a problem...QED
--- It's the charging of your battery that isn't working well or not at all...
So we need to check the batteries in the phone, are they properly inserted...??? In the right direction..?? Are the contacts properly touching the metal...??? Do they have sufficient power..?? There are numbers written on them (1234mA/h) you need to replace with a value equal to or greater than the original.
-- On the charger side... Is there power at the outlet..?? Is it not plugged into a power strip with the switch off, or poorly inserted or "wobbling" in the outlet holes..?? The transformer, if working, should be warm..??? Lukewarm..?? The wire going from the transformer to the phone, is it not twisted, or cut, or damaged...?? Is it properly plugged under the base..??
In any case, we need to find out why the battery isn't charging... I would even say it's discharging...

Hello, this morning the same problem. I bought a new phone yesterday and it also had the blinking icon, so it's not the device. The batteries are new and properly inserted in the right direction. The batteries are new AAA800AH. I think it's related to the connections because the new device exhibited the same behavior. The phone is plugged into the same socket as the router. The router works very well. I tried another socket and the same problem persists.............. and this morning is the same as yesterday, thank you.
Has the charger used also been changed at the same time as the new phone..?
The battery is 800 mA/h and not 800 A/h, it's milliampere, not ampere..
If that's the case, it may have always been like that...?? and it simply means that the battery is charging.
You could charge this battery on an independent battery charger, and when it is completely full, put it back in your phone... and see what that icon says..??
Because if I understood correctly, this phone works normally... despite everything.

Hello
since I only had regular batteries on hand, I used them. ; except that I definitely shouldn't have put the phone on the charger afterwards (charger """ wrecked "" )
when you buy a cordless phone, you must charge the handset without connecting it to the network before using it, as you need to wait between 6/8 hours to charge the batteries; as long as the batteries are not charged, the icon blinks.

today, I am doing nothing, if I haven't finished, I will continue tomorrow

You don't need a charger here, it's the base that's supposed to recharge....
By the way, does it keep blinking when the handset is not on the base?
On the batteries, it should also be indicated ni-mh?
It's certainly marked rechargeable but not battery, well, they shouldn't.

YES... Unfortunately, there are rechargeable batteries sold commercially referred to as cells.
The English use the term battery to refer to both cells and rechargeable batteries, which has led to folk translations.
This is a gross error.
Cells are essentially non-rechargeable and may explode if recharged, potentially causing a fire.
Generally, a warning can be found on these: May explode or leak if recharged

I returned the new phone because I indeed couldn't make calls and I'm still having the same charging issue with both the new and the old device. It probably isn't the device itself, since I had the same problem with the new one.
No, I returned the new one since I couldn't make calls with it and there was still the battery issue, so I put the old phone back. But the battery icon is always flashing. SFR assured me this morning that everything is fine and that it's my electrical socket that's having problems, but yesterday I plugged it into another socket and it was the same. I haven't changed the base, I don't have another one on hand knowing that each base is different.
Hello
Which Alcatel 530 do you have? F530 Voice (with buttons + display on the base) or F530 simple (no visible buttons on the base)
Which icon is flashing?
The battery icon completely, the inside (dark) or the outer ring (white inside)

Hello, I have an Alcatel 530 with an answering machine. Everything works fine with the box and the calls, but the battery icon keeps blinking constantly. I've tried everything: plugging in, unplugging, checking the box, the wires, turning it off/on. I bought a new landline phone and it has the same problem. I returned it. The batteries are rechargeable and new. I spoke with someone from SFR this morning who told me everything was perfect and that it was working fine, and that the issue was with my electrical outlet, but yesterday I plugged it into a different outlet and it was the same. For me, it's related to the phone connection through the box. I don't see anything else, thank you for your cooperation.
Hi
??? The connection of the base to the box has nothing to do with the charge
You have two cables on the base:
One that connects to the phone socket (??) that goes to the box (to use your terms: it's not plugged behind the box but on a phone socket itself connected to the box)
Are you referring to an adapter with flying wires between the base and the box, the phone itself having no wires and simply resting on the base?
The other one allows you to connect the transformer powering the base to a 220 volts wall socket.

Since he is with SFR, he might have a NB6; on the NB6, there is no phone socket on the box itself, it connects via a Y-splitter on the ADSL cable, but the phone is indeed functionally on the box (case 1)
