Use a pre-recorded .m4r file as a ringtone on your iPhone.

Hello,

I imported a ringtone in .m4r format to an iPhone (via email), which is now saved (and I can open and listen to it) in a "Files" folder accessible from the iPhone menu.

I would like to use this file as a ringtone, but it doesn't appear in the sound list when I go to Settings > Sounds.

How do I add it to the sound list? I should mention that I have no knowledge of iPhones (I use Android). Thank you!

Hello,

With the GarageBand app, you can add your music to the ringtones list. Here is a video that explains how to do it.

Hello, thank you!
No solution without going through an app (whether it's iTunes or another), so, even if the file is already on the iPhone?
