USB/Ethernet adapter that doesn't work on Windows 10

Good evening, I just moved into a boarding school. Of course, the only internet connection available is via an Ethernet port. However, my Acer computer does not have one.
I bought a Cable Matters USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter but I can't establish a connection; the error message under Windows 10 (64bit) is ""Ethernet 2" does not have a valid IP configuration.
I'm a bit lost regarding which drivers to install, and in the ZIP folders, I don't know what to choose...
Help! Thank you!

    Hello,
Since you don't provide the exact model of your adapter, please check this page for the driver corresponding to your adapter and its model; there's no need for you to provide the model since all available drivers can be found on that page.
    Have a nice evening.

Thank you, I had downloaded the Win10 USB Ethernet driver (before 2016) from this site, I had extracted the folder, and installed the "setup". It was installed successfully but nothing happens. It still doesn't work...
