My USB A to Ethernet adapter is not working.

Good evening,

I have a small problem with the female connector of my Ethernet cable on my laptop (basically, my Ethernet cable no longer stays in place on my computer because the connector on the computer that allowed it to hold has broken). I bought a USB-A to RJ45 adapter today at FNAC from the brand Temium. There was no CD, just the adapter itself, and that’s it. I connected my Ethernet cable to this adapter and the USB to my PC. It flashes blue, but nothing else. My computer does not detect any new devices in the Device Manager, and when it's connected, it shows that the Ethernet network is not identified. I really don't know much about computers, and even less about connectivity; all I know is that I bought a product without a manual for 25 euros, which for me does not seem to be working...
I would therefore need help to see if this could be resolved with a driver or something that might finally connect me via Ethernet.
(I am using Windows 10)

Hi,
I often use this kind of adapter and I've never had a problem.
It's true that it is usually recognized without additional drivers.
This one might be defective, ask for an exchange at Fnac.
Make sure to get a gigabit/usb 3.0 adapter (blue plug)
There are cheaper ones on Amazon and other websites.
I always keep one in my laptop bag because it can always come in handy.

And... Voila Voila Voila!

Thank you, I'll try to look into that.. I'm not sure I can return the device because the packaging box is a bit damaged (I couldn't do otherwise to open it).

yes, packaging is not a criterion, especially since it’s often a blister for these small items.
However,
they will probably test it on their own machine before the exchange.

So on my PC I have two USB 3.0 ports, but the device I bought is 2.0, at least I think so because there’s no information about it on the packaging.. It just says "USB-A". I tried to see if there was a driver to install by searching the model number which is 4384873 from the brand Temium, and I found nothing.. I'm a bit lost. I bought the product directly in-store, and they assured me it would work just by plugging it into my computer and the Ethernet cable :/. So I'll check if I can make an exchange.
