USB to RJ45 adapter

Question

Hello

I recently bought a printer with a square USB port, but since our network has RJ45 sockets, does anyone have a solution or know of an adapter (link if possible) so I can make the connection???

Whoa, USB and RJ45 (network) are not the same thing.

If your printer is "networked", it has an RJ45 connection.
If it only has a mini USB port, you can only connect it to a USB port on your PC. Don't mix the two up.

I don't know if it's the adapter you're looking for, but I couldn't find one. I saw USB to IDE, SATA, USB to serial, but no USB to RJ45. So here are 2 solutions:

1- You connect your printer to one computer and set up printer sharing. This computer will act as the print server and needs to stay on during printing.

2- You buy a print server with dual connection: RJ45 and USB. You connect your printer to the server and the server to the network with an RJ45 cable. It's convenient, but more expensive than the other solution. Here's an example:

Well, I can be wrong but normally it's USB or Firewire. If you bought a printer with a square USB, you didn't make a good deal for compatibility reasons!!! I think it's Firewire standard IEE1394.

A USB->JR45 adapter may exist, but I haven't found one, and among those who have written, no one has presented one. What Isabelle presents as an adapter is nothing more than a print server like the one I proposed above. The catch is that it is not mentioned whether this device has a USB port. If it's to make a USB printer accessible to multiple users via the Ethernet network, a print server is required.

USB/RJ45 adapter does exist, so let the naysayers be quiet since I bought one yesterday, installed it earlier, and now my 500 GB external hard drive (normally USB) is pretty much functioning like a NAS since it's on the network.

It's a mini USB/Ethernet server; the seller himself didn’t even know it existed when I asked him. It’s currently priced at €39.90 at Planete Saturn, with quick and efficient installation using a mini installation CD provided.

Unfortunately, I can’t find any pictures online, but I encourage you to check it out in person.
