Black screen on startup

Hello,
My handsome boy installed a graphics card driver so that I could have better picture quality for watching videos. But the screen is completely black, not even a Thomson logo. The status lights are on. But I can't access the BIOS in the dark. What can I do, please? It's a Thomson NEO14A-WH32N notebook. There's no BIOS battery inside! I'm counting on you because I don't understand anything, and the Thomson website tells me that my computer doesn't exist!! lol

Configuration: Android / Chrome 75.0.3770.101

Hello,
Aside from uninstalling this driver, I don't see what more you can do with this PC.

Hello Jmj,

You can try connecting the computer to an external device, such as a monitor or a TV, to see if the display works.

If it works, all you need to do is uninstall the driver.

Best regards,

Hello and thank you for the advice. Unfortunately, we never have the right cable, which is my case. Is there a key to hold during startup to work a miracle?

Hello,
The recovery partition can be launched by pressing a key when starting your PC.

On this Thomson PC, you can always try:

volume + and the Power button for 10 seconds, then release the button: Volume +

On the Thomson NEO14-se, press the ON button and then press F9 during startup.

A menu will then appear; in this menu, select: repair your computer (Repair in English).

Thank you, Edwards, for your response, but the computer doesn't want to do anything; it's just black... I ordered a mini HDMI to HDMI cable hoping I can connect it to a TV or another computer to delete this driver or reset the PC. If you have any other ideas in the meantime? Thank you all because this little issue has been going on since January!

Hello,
Also try:
unplugging the power supply from the PC, removing the battery, and holding down the power button for at least 30 seconds.
Reconnect the power supply and the battery, then restart using the power button and see what happens.

Hello Edawards, I did as instructed: unplugged the battery, etc. Nothing has changed except that the indicator light took longer to turn on. Also, I received a cable to connect the PC to the TV, but nothing, I have a "no signal" message. I connected an old PC to the TV and the screen duplicated perfectly, so why isn't this one working??

See this:

Make sure to check the power cable connector to see if it has come loose and is no longer doing its job.

No, I can't do anything. I tried the reboot key but can't launch anything without access to the BIOS in the dark. Is there a reboot key that would do everything by itself once detected by the PC? Because I think mine is being detected since it flashes when I plug it in.

I can't do anything. I even have a reboot key, but it's impossible because I can't access the BIOS due to a black screen. It's detected by the PC because it flashes when I insert it. Is there a key that would do everything automatically as soon as it's detected and resets the PC?

Hello,
Go ask an IT technician some questions without insisting too much, saying that you don't have the budget to buy another PC at the moment, but that you will consider it.
The PC may either have a screen panel that has shifted, the inverter https://www.ebay.fr/i/382418614064?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=709-134431-41854-0&mkcid=2&itemid=382418614064&targetid=489619528946&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9055904&poi=&campaignid=1669940627&mkgroupid=64137313349&rlsatarget=pla-489619528946&abcId=1139516&merchantid=116348269&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuent1JHK4wIVB7LtCh3KYg-LEAYYCSABEgJ-7vD_BwE that you can find to replace it, or the driver he installed for the graphics card is not compatible.

Hello,

It seems that the installation of the graphics card driver has caused a display issue. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this problem:

Restart in Safe Mode:

Completely turn off your notebook.
Turn it on and immediately and repeatedly press the F8 key until the boot menu appears.
Select Safe Mode. This will allow Windows to start with basic drivers and might give you access to the screen.
System Restore:

If you can boot into Safe Mode, you can try performing a system restore to a date before the driver installation.
Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection, then select System Restore.
Reinstall the Graphics Driver:

In Safe Mode, go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select it).
Find the graphics card driver, right-click on it and select Uninstall.
Restart your computer and let Windows automatically reinstall the default driver.
Access the BIOS:

If you cannot access the BIOS, try unplugging the computer, holding down the power button for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in and restarting.
Try accessing the BIOS by pressing F2, F10, or Delete (this may vary depending on the model).
Contact Technical Support:

If these solutions do not work, try contacting Thomson technical support again, explaining that your notebook is a NEO14A-WH32N model.
You can also check specialized forums or online groups for additional advice.
I understand that this situation is frustrating, but these steps should help you restore the display. Feel free to reach out to me if you need more assistance.
