How to find the scanner function with a new PC Solved

Hello, I updated the driver for this printer and it prints correctly. It also has a scanner function that I need, but I can't get this function to appear on the screen. How can I achieve this and create (like before) a scanner shortcut on the desktop? Thank you    Configuration: Windows / Chrome 74.0.3729.169 PC Huawei canon MP450 printer

Hello, I have clearly stated (but at the bottom of the page) that my printer is a Canon MP450, and my PC is a Huawei (specifically a MateBook with 256GB). FORGOT TO MENTION: Windows 10 + Wi-Fi connection + this printer has a scanning function.

Hello, According to the manufacturer's website, this printer is not supported under Windows 10 (32 and 64 bits), assuming it is about this system, of course! (Not specified!) Under Windows 10, there is a way to use the scanner by doing the following. Click on the Start button at the bottom left, search for Scanner in the vertical drop-down menu,  and click on it to start. Hello to you....  If this printer is correctly installed and recognized by Windows 10... have you tried using the Fax & Scan function included in Windows 10? In your search bar at the bottom left, type Fax & Scan and a shortcut will appear above >> Click on it and in the window that opens >> New Scan and that should be okay in principle..   As previously indicated by glg29, whom I salute in passing, Canon did not provide a driver for this printer under Windows 10... but it may be recognized nonetheless through the printer addition option in the control panel >> Use Windows Update to search in this case... and if okay, install it from there.  See screenshot below   But I'm not sure this will work with this driver because here it's a Canon Inkjet MP450 and yours might be a Canon Pixma MP450 but it's worth trying ..... and if it doesn't work, I believe it’s who ...? Hello, I've tried everything.  Scanning from the printer dashboard: "in preparation", waiting and then nothing.  Control panel, devices and printers: I see my printer with a ! in a yellow triangle and I read: "manufacturer: Canon INC, printer scanner category model: Inkjet multifunction printer, troubleshooting needed description: The Device Stage..., status: driver unavailable"  I've tried all my updates... So I think it's done... Maybe heavy...  Thank you all.

Hello ...  Thank you for your reply..  Have you tried what I suggested above, namely (although I'm not sure it will work since the printer is not a Pixma .. but an Inkjet of the same MP450 model .... still worth a try..)   1-Open the control panel 2-Devices and Printers 3-Add a printer (at the top) 4-The indicated printer is not ..... (click on it >> then next) 5-Add a local or network printer (at the bottom) >> Next 6-Use an existing port >> Next 7-Click on Windows Update >> Next 8-Let it search ... then in the window that will open .. 9-Left column >> Canon >> Right column >> Canon inkjet MP 450 series ... 10-Next and follow the installation >> Connect the USB cable when the system asks   If that still doesn't work ... Hello, Phew, I found a way to scan! I went back to the printer's dashboard. While scrolling, I read that it offered to scan to a USB stick. I didn't even know there was a USB port on the front. Great, I can now scan directly to the USB. In fact, the scanner is standalone, but since I had always used it from the PC, I didn't know that.
